"EVERYTHING I've ordered from HDC has been GREAT until NOW! This is a very pretty piece of furniture but the color is painted RED not stained wood but painted! Cheap color choice...the color even dried on the Styrofoam packing pieces...VERY POOR!! If it wasn't such a HUGE inconvenience to return---I WOULD HAVE!!! Unless you have painted red wood in your home...this is NOT for you! Very displeased!"

"The Mahogany is clearly Cherry.
Quality is poor. It had chips right out of the front. They glue used to glue in the glass was spread all over the place. It looked like a young child got it everywhere.
Tape everywhere.
Packaging is basically destroyed just trying to remove it from the box, so i had no way to re-pack it to try to return it.
I would avoid this product."

"Needed a specifically sized piece, and this fit the bill. It was packed perfectly - very impressed. The color is dark red which works well for me, but I don't want any one disappointed. That is the reason why I marked down on appearance."

"I received this pedestal today and am happy with the product. Yes there was tape on the glass, but it came off easily for me with only a small amount of residue which came off easily with nail polish remover. The color is closer to cherry but a nice color nonetheless."

"Door seems to be a composite material, not solid wood. Finish is painted, not stained. Glass is taped for protection, but adhesive is difficult to remove. Overall, an excellent value - you get what you pay for."

"Pros: This unit is attractive to look at. I found the color more mahogany than the reddish that other reviewers have stated. Amazingly, it comes completely assembled--you just insert the glass shelves. Perfectly packaged. Arrived safely with no damages. Even the corners are protected from shipping damage.
Cons: You may save an hour not having to assemble the pedestal, but you will spend the hour cleaning the glass. Each glass side (4) has two diagonal strips of masking tape, that once you peel off, leaves a sticky-glue residue on the glass. You will need a small bottle of "goof-off" or "glue gone" in addition to a bottle of glass cleaner, to remove the sticky residue from the glass. Also, every panel of glass (inside and out) and the glass shelves themselves came smudged with residue and prints. I'm not good at cleaning glass, so this was quite a chore. Even the edges of the glass (where they meet the wood) had a slight gooey substance on the glass that required quite a bit of work to clean off. Also, I found the mahogany finish to have been applied a bit unevenly on parts of the pedestal.
Overall: Fortunately, it looks beautiful from a small distance, but up close you can see some of the imperfections. Shame on the manufacturers for allowing glass to go out with smudges and goop on them. Even though it's Made in China, I expected better quality control. There were even some minor scratches on some of the glass, which mostly disappear, depending on the angle you look at them."

"Most of my wood furniture pieces are a smooth, dark, rich, mahogany. I was hoping that this piece would match and fit right in. It does not. The color is more reddish than I wanted and there are a few blemishes (small dents and two scratches- not horrible but there). I have placed this in my living room and have put some very special keepsakes to display in it. Yes, it's attractive. I'm just a little disappointed - but will keep it."

"Overall, I am satisfied with the product; however, I would recommend adjustable legs to stabilize the stand, currently it has a slight wobble. Also, the product was not quite true to picture. I expected the product to be a little darker cherry."

"This curio pedestal is simply beautiful. It adds an additional touch of class to my living and dining area. With this new addition, some repeat guest in my home are noticing more about the furniture and art near the curio/pedestal. The only thing it lacks is internal lighting. However, that small con should not prevent anyone from purchasing this great piece of furniture."

"I needed a curio for a few items. This fit easily into my decor, holds my items (not too many) just fine. The construction is very good and did not need assembly. It came quickly and was very well packed. Since it is a pedestal, I also put on top an object that related to the ones inside. I am very pleased with this purchase."

"After reading the description provided by Home Decorators and reading other reviews, this curio pedestal came just as I thought it would look if not better.
The packaging was outstanding! It shows red when light is on it, but I think that is what makes it so regal and unique looking.
You can't beat it for the price.
It is placed next to my fireplace and people comment on its beauty when they enter the room. I have a lovely hand blown vase on top which makes it look so elegant.
This is the second piece of furniture i have purchased through your company and will continue to purchase other pieces as needed.

"I think I got a great deal on the Mahogany Pedestal Curio I purchased. It looks exactly like it appears online; no surprises here! This item goes well with my traditional (somewhat eclectic) decor; and it doesn't take up much space. I've wanted to display some items, yet don't want clutter. This piece helps those of us who collect "small treasures"! Arrival time and packaging was better than I hoped. Assembly consists of just putting in the glass shelf...totally worth every cent I paid .... I highly recommend this curio cabinet!!!"

"I purchased these pedestals to hold two palace urns that I own. These work perfectly as the base is large enough to hold the urns without tipping. That was very improtant! I am also able to place small vases inside the pedestals which adds storage and more visual interest to them. I would highly recommend these pedestals."

"We absolutely love this curio perdestal. We were looking for two small end tables for our living room. We've always been pleased with the quality of furniture from home decorators, and thought this would be perfect based on the dimensions (and we liked the display aspect since I collect vases). The quality is great and it looks fantastic in our room. Our guests always comment on them when they come in and see them for the first time! We like it so much that we are buying two more!"
