"These chairs are very sturdy. The wood is solid but light. I loved how the hardware was in separate labeled bags. My only issue is the color is not like the picture online. I ordered the antique blue and it looked more like a green, but it still works for me."

"Fits the bill for change from vintage mahogany to French country white. Workmanship less a star since there was paint separation at the mid slat joint top/bottom, guess due to drying. Very minor, probably would not notice unless close."

We purchased two of these side chairs to use as extra seating. One of them works fine, but the other is wobbly and unstable. We tried to tighten the screws, but to no avail. We'll have to throw the chair out.

"I was pleased with the chair constructionwise, etc. But, I was disappointed that it is much heavier looking than I anticipated. The legs are too fat for my decor, therefore, could not use it where I wanted. It has been put aside. I don't know what to do with it in my decorating scheme. It was very easy to assemble. I was somewhat disappointed with the distressed look. I wanted to use a set for dining room chairs, but they are too rustic looking. I could not figure out how to reupholster the seat if I wanted to do that and have it look nice.."

"These chairs are beautiful and work well with a refurbished antique table that I have. They are moderately easy to put together, but it is important when screwing the seat to the back portion of the chair to begin with the middle screw in order for all the other pilot holes to line up correctly. Honestly from the description I expected the chairs to be more dinged up or antiqued than they are, but they are still great. They are very sturdy. I hope to recover the seats at some point, but for the time being the linen coler is perfect."

"I couldn't believe I would actually consider ordering furniture online, but this is the style I had envisioned for my kitchen. I was surprised to find it in a Home Decorator's catalog and at such a good price. I was very unsure about whether I would like the distressing, as I couldn't really tell in the photos how distressed it actually was. After much consideration, I took the plunge and ordered six chairs and the table. I couldn't be more pleased. The furniture is heavy, sturdy, and beautiful. The distressing isn't too much, as I had feared. The photos don't do it justice. The chairs are comfortable and the fabric is darker than appears in the photos, which I liked. The creamy white color looks great in my kitchen. This set should last for a very long time."

Just received my 2 Sheffield Side Chairs if you are looking for a light or white color seat this is not the chair for you.
On the website the seat appears to be white but it is definitely in the brown family not white. The seat looks like one of those that comes with the folding metal chairs.

"I bought six of the chairs in black for my dining room. I am very pleased with the purchase. They are sturdy and very attractive. I bought them with the intention of recovering the upholstery with a different fabric, but the way the chairs are put together, I don't think it would be very easy to do. But, all in all, I was fine with the fabric as is so it was not a big deal."

"These chairs seem to be well made and substantial. heavy to move. Fabric is ok, a little blah but easy to recover if you want. The style is a little victorian for my taste and the distreessed finish is disappointing. But a great price and I am keeping them."

"Bought the Sheffield dining collection (table and 6 chairs). Goes perfectly in our new kitchen with the walnut pub counter stools. Fabric is actually darker than it appears in the photos, but we like that. Comfortable, sturdy, looks 3X more expensive than what we actually paid! Very pleased."

"Assembly was not that difficult, but pre-drilled holes did not line up, and for a lower price, I had a set delivered, assembled, from Macy's. I was really disappointed, since I preferred the look of the one I had to return."
