"I was pleasantly surprised at the high quality of this table. It arrived in perfect condition, and the table's finish (black) is beautiful. Our family has enjoyed it very much - dinners, suppers, playing games - it is a wonderful addition to our kitchen. This table can complement fine dining or pizza. I am very happy with this purchase. "I love the appearance of the table. I purchased it in black. The first time I used it I did use padded placemats but a guest just moved a bread bowl a few inches and it marred the top of the table. It's a mark that will not come out. It did not take the "black finish" off, it just marred it. So be very careful how you use the table."

"This table is heavy! I like to color and it fits in my kitchen where I wanted it. My husband and I put it together and it didn't take too long to do so. The pieces were all marked well and the directions were good."

"We haven't gotten to use it a whole lot yet, but so far I'm pleased. The table arrived on a pallet in two boxes. The way they shipped the table top made the most of the space, but made it more difficult to separate so we could carry it into the house. A really solid and HEAVY table. Definitely need at least two people to move and assemble it."

"I love this table but the warm cherry is just a little bit fancier of a finish than I was expecting. And it's not as "reddish" as I was hoping. But overall I like it and it's very good quality and at a good price! Assembly was easy to understand but the pieces are quite heavy. May not be a one person job for some people."

Mamick, I am deciding between the warm cherry and the antique black. When you say it's not as reddish, how would you classify the color? Would you say the warm cherry is more on the brown/walnut side, or more golden/yellowish/orangish? Thanks!

"I ordered this table in warm cherry and it looks beautiful in a small dining room. It is very sturdy and solid and the leaf fits perfectly. It also looks terrific without the leaf. The first table delivery revealed damage, but customer service was wonderful and replaced it in less than a week. I was very pleased with the service. I have used H.D. before and I will use them again."

"First I live in AK and it is extremely hard to find companies willing to ship here, especially at a reasonable cost. THANK YOU!! I am very happy with the table. I first thought it was damaged (then I remembered it is distressed:-) I have little ones so this is a plus! I wasn't sure how the quality would be, but was very happy to find it is very heavy and sold! I would do business here again definitely!"

"We purchased the warm cherry, oval Shefield dining table and chairs. We love them. Without the leaf, it is sized perfectly for our NYC apartment with the option of opening for more guests. We purchased two additional chairs for a total of 6 chairs. Assembly of the chairs was not too difficult but the table was more challenging which is the reason for the moderate rating of the assembly process. The color of the table was what was expected from the picture online. One problem was with the delivery company, the table parts did not come together. Both days they gave delivery windows of 10-2 and didn't show until closer to 5 which resulted in two wasted days waiting on the delivery. However, the table arrived in good condition with no damage. I would use Home Decorators again and we are very pleased with our purchase."

"I've looked at this table online for a few months and finally purchased it. This is an excellent table and the leaf is a major plus. Putting it together was relatively easy. As noted in other reviews the antique white is more of a cream.
One thing I wish for -- a small vial of touch-up paint for those of us who don't mind distressed, but would like to cover the marks that look like chipped paint.
Overall a wonderfully sturdy table -- a definite keeper."

"Goes great with French Provincial furniture. I have an old dining set and wanted to replace the table and this matches so well. Heavy duty! Keep in mind that antique Ivory is not an off white color,this is where you can get in trouble. Color is more like an off ivory/cream color with hues of yellow & green. Has marks & small cut marks on top & small missing spots of paint to give it an antique look. I would think the dark color table wiould show less distress marks. HAPPY WITH IT. Goes on sale $100 off every so often, so worth it!"
