"I bought this size because I was thinking of putting a large one in my den and I wanted to see if it was soft enough. It is definitely not soft. It's more like a seisel, but still a great rug! I put it in my entryway and it is perfect."

"I really am sorry I chose this carpet. The appearance was only just "OK". The checkerboard pattern is way more noticeable in person, than in the photo. And it's more like a rag rug, not like a carpet. The edges and ends are not very straight, but that part would have been OK. But it also seemed to look very flat in just a week of light use (not the kind of thing a vacuum could perk back up.) But the real problem is the poor quality weaving. The manufacturer seems to have used hundreds of short cut strings of jute to weave it, because the cut ends keep coming unwoven and sticking up. It is loosening the weave. Everyday I have to try to poke dozens of the inch (to inch and a half) long cords of jute back into the weave. Also brown powder like dirt accumulates under the rug. In less than two weeks time, it's hard to believe that much dirt is from the two people who occasionally walk on it in my kitchen. I have twice rolled the rug up and swept up the dirt, it's more than a cup of dirt in less than a week. I can only think the jute is breaking down and crumbling. I would return this rug, but it is heavier than I can manage, not to mention the cost of mailing. Save yourself some grief and choose another rug."

"I ordered two of these rugs in a large size, and although they look nice and vacuum nicely, the loops are much larger than what appeared in the online pictures, and my dogs' feet get stuck in them and pull the jute loops right up. Sometimes they're easily remedied, but I've had to cut several--making the rugs look prematurely worn/frayed. Otherwise the look is nice and"

"this rug does not look like the photo on the website. We were surprised when it arrived and wondered if there was a mistake made. the boxes are cream and hemp,(tan). we were expecting more of a monochromatic rug. The hemp has been pulling since it was laid down. I wouldn't recommend this rug if you have a large dog,as it would pull even more. A rug pad is a must, to reduce slipping."

"I had purchased a living room rug from HD before . It was and is amazing. I get ALOT of compliments.. I decided to use them again. The rug I purchased was for a back door area leading to the pool. As soon as i put it down I saw that the loops might become a problem . I was right. As soon as we started walking on it the loops were starting to stick up. It is made out of hemp and so it is rope like. Not sure if it will settle down over time but, we do love the way it looks in the room. Maybe this would be a better rug for not such a busy traffic area. Curious to know what will happen when it comes time to vacuum it ??"

"As one other reviewer mentioned, this rug is attractive, but poorly made. Within a few days, the jute fibers had started unraveling from the weave and sticking out of the rug in many places. This not only looks awful, but feels uncomfortable on your feet."

This is the worst quality rug I have seen. Since purchase. the unraveling ropes have now covered the entire rug and it looks terrible. It will need to be replaced- and this is about 6 mo from purchase!

Great Looking, Yet Heavy Duty Rug

"This rug is very heavy duty and looks great. I like that both sides can be utilized in case one side gets dirty or overused, prolonging the life of the rug. I was a little disappointed to learn that you can't throw it in the washing machine or even hose it off as it suggests cleaning with a dry cloth."

"This is a good-looking rug, but it started to unravel within the first few days. It is poorly woven, using many short pieces versus long strands, so the ends of some of the pieces have already started to come out of the weave, even though it is in a very low-traffic area. I did not send it back because it looks so good, it was half-price, and it is a unique size which we needed for a bathroom area. But I fear it won't last a year."
