"this is a beautiful piece of furniture - looks much better than i expected. it was extremely easy to put together -just had to screw in four legs. the actual space to hang file holders is limited - this is the only negative."

"I selected this file console to go with the Ingrid collection desk I currently own. It is quite a beautiful piece. I am actually using for storage in my office/guest room. Partly for my papers and partly to store some sheets and blankets. It is a nicely crafted piece of furniture and looks and feels quite sturdy. I was very pleased with my choice."

"The Ingrid file console is more beautiful in person than online. I first puchased the Ingrid desk for my home office; then I decided to buy the Ingrid file console and Ingrid 5 shelf bookcase to complete the look. My bookcase is still in the box, but I can't say enough about the quality of the desk and file console. Hopefully, the quality of the bookcase will be the same. My husband was even impressed with the desk and console. The file console has two decent-sized drawers to hold miscellaneous office items, and the console was very easy to assemble---you only screw on the legs. I had read the previous reviews about the wasted space in the file drawers and, yes, I agree, but it suits my needs and I utilize the wasted space with books in an upright position. My office walls are a medium gray color and the almond/creamy Ingrid furniture looks beautiful against it. I'm very happy with all my Ingrid pieces!"

"Since I already purchased Martha Stewart Ingrid tall bookshelves as well as the short one, I knew how beautiful this collection was. The color is not white nor off white. It's more of a creamy white with a very slight hint of yellow, kind of a really watered down eggnog? But definitely almond color as well (as in a sliced open almond). And there is a very light 'grain' in the finish. But I love it! The two top drawers (inside: 21.5 L x 11.125 W x 3.75 H) are great for supplies, paper, etc. The file drawers (inside: 21.5 L x 10 W x 10.5 H) take legal files and letter size, but only in a front to back fashion. If they had installed taller sides and holes for bars, the letter size file capacity could have been so much more, with the bars & files installed left to right in the drawer. Still, other items may be stored beside the left-over space between the bar and the side of the drawer. Assembly was easy, however, the console is very heavy. Once it's turned upside down in order to screw the legs on, you really should lift the unit up and over to set it down or else you would be putting all the weight on two of the legs as you lift it up and turn it upright. (That method may end up in cracking or damaging the legs, although they are installed in a sturdy fashion). If you're not strong, I recommend having a second person help you with the turn over. All the components are very solid and beautiful. Even the hardware is an antiqued bronze/brass look."

"I love the look of these file cabinets. I bought 2 based on past reviews that they don't hold much. I also agree with confusion over the design of the file space. There is a huge amount of wasted space to the right of the files. With slight modifications, they could have made more useable space. That said, they are beautiful and look great in my new home office. Good quality, hardwood. Only had to screw on legs!"

"I love the look and the overall quality of the piece. The only thing I wish they would have specified was the drawer size. They are smaller than I had hoped and can't fit in all that I want, but very nicely made, quick delivery and I would recommend it to a friend!"

"Perfect size for the room. Drawer space is adequate. My only disappointment is that the finish is way different than the desk - the desk has a yellowish finish, and the console is more of a browinsh-biege. The difference is very obvious since the two pieces are placed only feet from each other."

"Received my Ingrid File Console on Monday. Was delivered into my foyer. With the assistance of my husband, I cut open the carton and removed the generous packing around the console. It was packed very well for shipment...outstanding in fact.
The console arrived quickly, and with no damage. All we did was attach the legs, which amounted to threading them into the prepared openings on the console.
My practice is to wash anything new like this before use, but this console arrived in pristine condition and appeared to need nothing. Just the same, I gave it a quick once-over with Murphy's Oil soap and water before placing it and filling it with files and "my stuff".
It suits my room perfectly. It looks as nice, if not better, than on line. The workmanship and the exterior finish on the piece are very nice. If anyone questions the exact color, it is a very warm ivory.
I will shop Home Decorators again in the future. I just regret not having ordered the matching chair at the same time!
If you are on the fence about this item, call customer service and ask them all your questions. They were very helpful to me about exact dimensions, etc. Customer Service was excellent."

"no where on the site does it say how much filing storage there is, you assume since it so huge that you could at least have double the filing storage. The drawers are shallow and only hold one row of folders.
Also the color is not true to what is pictured.
Very unhappy"

"The product is well made and easy to assemble. The file drawers, however are not so good for storage. The drawers are too narrow to fit standard folders fron to back of the drawer. The drawers are not wide enough to fit two rows of standard folders side by side. Thus you end up with one row of folders fron to back. Really poor storage. Would not reccomend this to anyone."

"For years I have been looking for just the right combination of home office furniture. This is it-I love the feel of the furniture, it's heavy, solid wood, well crafted, beautiful finish. A perfect fit for a feminine style office setting, with it's light color and curved legs, and details. The size is perfect for home use. "I am using this filing console in a walkway space between my kitchen and family room and it looks nice there. It almost looks like a buffet. My only complaint is that if you have both drawers open at the same time it tips over.... it is a little top heavy. Overall I really like it"

"I recently purchased the MS Ingrid file console, the desk, 5-shelves bookcase and the chair. Overall, I'm pretty pleased with my purchases. I have never ordered anything before from Home Decorators Collection, but it was a great experience. It was easy to place the order. The communication from the company was accurate and helpful. The furniture was extremely well packaged, and the furniture had no damage when it arrived.
Regarding the credenza, my only complaint is that the file drawers should have been larger to accommodate 2 rows of side by side 8.5 x 11" hanging folders. There is wasted space in the drawers, so that's not great. However, the furniture is sturdy, well made and has some nice touches to the pieces. For the price range, the furniture exceeds my expectations. However, I really wish you offered the furniture in white and black.
Overall I'm really pleased with my purchases, and I'm glad I bought all of the items. I will continue to shop in the future at Home Decorators Collection, especially for Martha Stewart furniture."
