"Our first base arrived very damaged. We had it replaced and the second one was fine. We needed a heavy base because we occasionally get strong winds. It is very solid and heavy. We hope it will do the job."

"living in Fl. the winds can get mighty gusty. my last umbrella stand had to be filled with h20 or sand. Pain in the neck.Constantly blew over. This stand is twice the size and VERY heavy. It holds the umbrella nicely and I am more than pleased with it."

"This is actually a good, serviceable piece. The shipping carton arrived all banged up and a plastic collar was crushed (but unneeded). I rated this thing "Moderate" because at a 75# lump with no handles, it is difficult to move around."

"Decent value and very heavy so it does what it is designed to do. However, it arrived with a big chip out of the edge, which does not affect it's function, only it's appearance, so I will not bother to try to exchange it. If I had to purchase again, I would likely go with a solid metal stand as opposed to this covered concrete style."
