"Arrived very well packed and with no damage. I was prepared for rustic, but maybe not prepared enough... this is really rustic. I think it looks like furniture off a pirate ship, which is fine if that is the look you are going for. It will work for us because we are mixing it with antiques. If I had paid the full price and paid the price to ship this heavy piece, I might not feel that it was value for the money, but it was on sale with free shipping, so I think the price was fine for the product received. After months of shopping, I will attest that large bookcases that aren't built with MDF are very expensive, so with that in mind it was a good value and I believe people who see it in our home will assume it is antique or that we sourced it in some unique way... perhaps I can makeup a story to go with it, like we found it a historic abbey where they were storing casks of wine :) Also, it is the same from the front as the back so if you wanted it use it between rooms or where the back showed it would work."

"Let me start by saying it looks different than in the picture. Mine is very dark and the wood is extremely dull- does not look remotely reclaimed (looks like red stained beechwood). My bookcase showed up by delivery fully assembled. With all the iron pieces you can imagine how heavy it is- almost 300 pounds! Well for being 300 pounds the iron should go all the way around to support the massive shelves. unfortunately it does not, and there in lays the fatal flaw. Every shelf joint broke because (I assume) under the weight of shipping, the whole unit flexed.
It is also massive, so make sure your space can accommodate it. But I would think twice about it- not sure how they could ship it without it breaking."
