"One of the top panels was split in two. The side ringlets were not screwed in, but had been hammered in and were bent and warped beyond the point of functionality. I was able to take some mending plates, eye screws, and make some repairs to this chest and now I'm fairly happy with it. However, all of that work should not have been necessary."

"This coffee table is a perfect fit for our room. I was a little leery of the quality after reading a few reviews, but we have found it to be a sturdy build, with all features as described.
Similar tables online at various places for much more money, this one seems to be a bargain.
Shipping and packaging were acceptable and as described."

"Received within a week of ordering. Packaging was perfect, received without any scratches or dents (was worried about shipping and handling after reading some of the reviews, but thankfully there were no issues with mine!). The picture on the website does not do justice to the product. Beautiful details, great workmanship, and adds so much charm and character to my little living area. This was available in another retailer in my town, but Home Decorator's price with free shipping was unbeatable! Got the look for two third of the price! Very happy!"

"Just got the coffee table and at least one of the end tables, the other is supposed to arrive today. I'm very happy with my purchase especially after some of the other reviews of this product. It seems some purchasers didn't have a good experience.
I bought this product for my apartment, thinking it doesn't have to be perfect because I just use my apartment to commute to work. But I'm so pleased with it that now i'm thinking I may buy this product for my house, where I'm being very particular in my purchases and not sparing any cost. It would definitely go with the coastal cottage look I'm going for at my house."

"The coffee table arrived very late and I was not given the discount that I was promised. The workmanship was very poor. Some pieces were broken and some screws were missing fron the hinges. The hinges were loose and put on crooked. The boards on the top are uneven. If it wasn't so much trouble to box it back up, I would return it. It will be easier to have my husband fix it."

"The piece is great, but there were some drips from stain and some of the hardware was damaged. Instead of sending it back, it took 2 months to arrive, my husband just fixed the problems. Happy I have it but wouldn't buy another."

"This table looks great from a distance but if you look closely there are LOTS of imperfections. Even if it is supposed to be "rustic looking" I wish I would have inspected closer upon receipt as I would have returned. There are things that are crooked and the workmanship is not good.The storage is nice however."

"Great looking. Practical storage space. No assembly required. We were told it would take 10 days to arrive and it arrived in just a few days! Fits perfect with our over-sized furniture. First furniture purchase with HD and can't wait to buy from them again!"

"This table arrived well, considering the fact that it was already put together and therefore was quite bulky (the clueless delivery person left it wrong side up, despite the fact that the box was clearly marked), and that although mostly padded, some genius decided to stick the loose wine rack pieces of the storage table into one of the storage compartments -- which resulted in lots of clunking as we righted the table. I was crossing my fingers that other reviewers' issues could be avoided, but we had a loose hinge, bent nail, and minor scratches just as they did. Nothing we can't fix ourselves, but that's not what you're paying full price for now, is it? Overall a nice table -- hardware is more for show than use, definitely a "rustic" appearance, but storage function should work nicely (aside from somewhat flimsy support arms for the side tops), but man, do they drop the QC ball on this one. The pieces we've ordered in the past that were DIY were much easier to handle with customer service when something did show up dinged or broken -- you can't ship an entire item like this back very easily. My husband really liked this set and so did I, so we took the risk. I shouldn't have to say that about ordering a nice piece of furniture online nowadays, but there it is."

"Love the chest BUT... the QC department needs to buckle down on what should be permitted to ship! The item had a bit of damage - it appeared that a piece had broken off and was glued back in before shipping. Emailed customer service and they were willing to cut me a break on price so I kept them. Bought the matching end tables to complete the set."

"Love this chest. It ads such a unique rustic piece to the living room decor. The storage is also nice to have. I love the deep rich dark wood color. It does have a strong varnish smell, but I feel in time it will wear off."

"I love the rustic appearance of the wood and the hardware. There are a few minor imperfections in the workmanship, but nothing that affects its beauty or function enough to bother about it. For the price, this is definitely a great value and I think it looks gorgeous! The storage inside is great for blankets, games, or whatever you want handy by the couch."
