"This bookcase has a bottom shelf with 14" height, and a top shelf with 13 7/8" clearance, tall enough for my taller reference books as well as the magazine files, with clearance to pull them out. The walnut finish is slightly lighter, but does not look out of place next to the mahogany finished drawer chests.
Some of the connecting pegs for supporting bars across the back were loose, but a drop of wood glue fixed that, and the screws that fasten the bookcase together don't depend on the pegs."

"I needed some bookcases to fit under a counter in my dining/kitchen area. These worked out great and saved me the cost of doing something custom. The space between the shelves allows for taller books. The price was great.
I also ordered one in black to hold my jewelry boxes in the bedroom."

"The bookcases arrived well packaged and undamaged. The instructions were clear and all the parts and necessary tools were included.
The items are true to the picture online. They are nice and steady and hold quite a few books, plus the top is a nice surface to set a lamp or other items on. I use these bookcases to divide a large room into two distinct areas without making it look closed off.
I am very particular about quality, and these items meet all my expectations."

"This is the perfect size for my home office. I had been looking for a bookshelf for a while - most were too big and/or ugly. This is a nice dark color, made of solid wood. Had a little trouble with a couple of the provided screws not going in all the way and stripping (hate those little allen wrenches), but I was able to back them out and just used my own wood screws instead. Overall, great purchase!"

"This looks like a more expensive piece of furniture than it is -- a great value for the money. It's better than I expected.
I appreciated the published assembly instructions you can view before buying, because I adapted the middle shelf to tilt backwards, and I had to know (before deciding to buy it) if that could be done.
UPS delivery is always a hassle (I wish they shipped by USPS), but the Customer Service Department was a big help."

"Purchased the Montego High Bookcase earlier in the year and was very happy with it. Needed a smaller bookcase and this was perfect for my needs. The assembly was easy and it looks great. No issues with splintered wood this time. Can't beat the discounted price as well as free S & H."
