Nice look - much to difficult to assemble

"Boxes did arrive slightly dented on ends, but chairs were in tact. After unpacking, could not find the hardware. You need to peel back the bottom of the seat cushion and look underneath the bands which hold the chair together. It is not visible to you without moving the bands. Attempted to use the instruction guide to place seat and back together. Screw holes in seat were too large, so you needed to place the washer on the front side of the wood, which made the screw too small to hold the seat and back together. We tried with several other people to assemble - all ran into the same issue.
Will purchase pre-assembled seats from now on.
Return was costly given cost of shipping, but that's my error. Won't buy for price at this point anymore."

"One of the chairs was broken when I received and am still waiting for the return stickers. It will be a hassle to return such large boxes because it is too costly for UPS to pick up at the house. The height of the chair was not the problem but the height it was from seat to counter top."

"Eventhough the barstools were a bit difficult to put together they are well worth the effort. Part of what was difficult was that not all the hardware was in the package. We had to go get hardware to complete the build."

"These barstools are very nice looking. The leather is so soft and the coffee color is rich. Assembly is straightforward, however, the pre-drilled holes do not all line up so you have to make some modifications in order for it to work. If you do not have an awesome husband who can fix everything, I would skip these in favor of something that doesn't need to be assembled."

"After looking all over for a matched set of barstools and dining chairs, I settled on these. I am pleased with the color and appearance. One barstool arrived with a small rip in the fabric and HDC offered to ship another one right to me. The color was spot on and I think they will be durable and stylish for our vacation home. One note, assembly was a bit tedious; however, not difficult."

"I love this chair. The fact that the back is not just straight up but has a little lip makes it different from other chairs. I would just add that the cushions are very soft so if your bar counter is high, you may need to lower your counter if you just love these chairs like I do."

"We bought six (6) of these chairs in total for our newly finished basement bar.
--PRODUCT--
Product quality is high. Leather is nice. Chairs look great and are VERY comfortable. I removed the provided floor protector on the bottom of each leg and replaced it with a more wood-floor-friendly chair leg floor protector (acquired at local hardware store).

--ASSEMBLY--
Product was packaged well in the boxes for shipping. My 10yr old son helped me assemble. Each chair takes about 15 minutes to complete. I used an electric screw diver (with clutch...don't over tighten and tighten evenly) with hex bit as well as a driver to put in the wood screws. Product comes with hex wrench, which I used for final tightening of all bolts. All predrilled holes aligned well."

"I was so excited when I received my bar stools. I was hoping that the reviews I had read would not apply to my purchase - unfortunately, the comments about the leather not being tightly pulled against the frame were true on one. On the second one, the screws were stripped, making it impossible to assemble.
The color is gorgeous, but I'm returning them both."

"This was my first purchase from Home Decorators Collection and I was more than pleased. I took a chance knowing that sometimes what you see and order online is not always what you get when the actual items arrives....well, I was definitely proven wrong here. "They were hard to assemble, and are not stable now that assembled. We got three. One was perfect, the other 2 are wobbly, and my husband has a lot of skill and experience with these types of items."

"Bar stools had no hardware to assemble them with. One stool had the left front leg a full 1/4 inch shorter than the right leg. The holes for the leg assembly weren't lined up.making it quite difficult to put together."

"I bought three chairs and it took me awhile to put the 1st one together but the other two went pretty fast. The boxes were missing a coupe screws so I had to go and buy those. Also one chair was missing the floor protectors on the back legs so I had to buy those as well. Since I've only had the chairs for about two weeks, I really can't comment on the wearability."

"The struts on both sides of the chair were poorly attached; 2 of the 4 I purchased were cracked and broken. The anchor piece of wood holding the legs together was awkward to remove, and the nails used to hold them together broke off in the chair and were difficult to pull out"
