What a disappointment!

"I've done a lot of online searching for the perfect rug to top off my redecorated bathroom, and when I came across this one it seemed to fit the bill. The color (I chose sage) and design looked so soft and delicate, and after reading the glowing reviews from others, I purchased the rug in the 2'6" x 4'6" size. I was in such a hurry to get it - just knowing it would be gorgeous - that I paid for rush delivery. The rug arrived yesterday and I could not be more disappointed. The sage color is drab, the wool was coarse with a rather matted look, and worst of all, the design - instead of being detailed and delicate - was huge and poorly executed (reminded me of a child's sidewalk chalk!). This rug in smaller sizes is obviously cut from a LARGE rug, so the detail is completely lost. Too, the rug that I received was not even cut straight. Definitely not worth the price. Maybe it's fine in a large rug, but if you think the smaller sized rugs are going to in any way resemble the photo used here, think again. This is going back to Home Decorators pronto."

"This rug was even better than I had hoped for!! It is a VERY dense construction! Excellent quality!! I was trying to pair it on a stairway with an oriental in the living room without being too busy. IT IS PERFECT!! The color is a true sage (yellowish green with a gray tinge). The highlights are much more visible than I expected and add a true beauty to the carpet. I would recommend this purchase with NO reservations!!"

"I used this rug in my bathroom, which has many colors of gray. I didn't expect it to be quite so dark...it is nearly black, but it is nice and thick and feels nice on bare feet"

"The sage color had too much blue in it, not quite as depicted in catalog or on-line. The decorative stitching stands out much more than depicted in pictures.

"from the catalog and on-line, but acceptable.
Wish there was a way to get a sample before purchase (even if there was a cost for the sample). I would rather spend $15 on a sample than buy the rug and not like the color.
Had I been able to see a sample, I don't think I would have purchased but I'm not going to go through the hassle of sending it back.
The quality is good. My issue is with the color only.
Also, I would like to have had the white scrolls more visable on the rug."
