"I have some other Artisan pieces from Home Decorators and needed a coffee table. Although some of the other reviews weren't very favorable, I ordered the coffee table based on my previous experience with this furniture line. The kit arrived in good shape and wasn't hard to put together - though the instructions weren't the easiest to decipher.
The coffee table looks great! It is very sturdy, the drawers work well and the lower shelf is a great place to store magazines."

"This furniture line is total garbage. It is all pressboard material with the thinnest veneer I have ever seen. The veneer is peeling off in several places and is bubbled up in others. It is the same quality of furniture you might find at Target or Walmart. I also had missing hardware two of the three shipments.
It took Home Decorators three times to ship me this product and it was damaged all three times. This is more of UPS Ground' s responsibility. I finally decided to cut my losses and repaired the damaged piece on the third try.
Just a heads up to my fellow consumers, Home Decorators did refund me 50% of my initial cost for the troubles. On a more positive note, the operators at HD are very freindly and helpful in expediating the refund process."

"The Artisan coffee table is a great looking piece. We love the open bottom and the storage found in the two drawers. Assembly was fairly easy. We would have preferred to purchase the piece in the dark oak stain, but it had been discontinued on many of the matching pieces we intend to buy."

Good table but scratched

"Good table, but it came with scratches. Same thing happened with my desk that I bought to match this coffee table. This table it a nice size for my living room, but the picture makes it look larger than it actually is."

"I have to agree with some of the other reviewer's comments. The table is poorly made, difficult to assemble, and just feels flimsy. For how much it costs, it should be a lot nicer. I would say about a third of the pieces had some sort of scratch or chip in it, and a corner of the top piece was damaged. If getting a replacement wasn't such a hassle I would have, as it is I just repaired it as much as I could. Overall it looks fine, it just doesn't live up to what it should be."

"We had purchased a tv stand from this company and were very pleased with the quality and appearance. We tried to purchase matching coffee and end tables but they had discontinued the items. Went with these instead and it seems clear the company has gone to a cheaper supplier. Very thin veneers and a poor fit to assembled parts. Had to take apart and reassemble with glue and supplied fasteners to make table less wobbly. Had to send the first one back as damaged. Catalog color match not great. Second one a bit better but just got tired of sending back. I don't expect this table to last long."

"When I got the coffee table the packing was in perfect shape but when I went to put it together it had two pieces of wood missing on the corner of one leg and a long split on the bottom board along the front. This is a christmas gift or I would have sent it back. Thank gosh I had some touch up stain that I could repair the marks and missing wood. I also was four screws short for one of the drawers."

"The Artisian table is just what we wanted for style, function and workmanship in our family room. The shelf under the table is perfect to put the magazines and newspapers so they don't clutter the table top. The drawers are also great for coasters, remotes, tissues, etc.
The one downside was we must not have read before we ordered it was the "assembly required". The parts came so tightly wrapped that the box had to be cut off to get to the parts. The instructions were straightforward and say it takes 2 people to assemble. Perhaps if my husband hadn't done it alone it would have only taken a little over an hour instead of 2 hours. Also, there weren't enough screws, but we managed to put it together fine. Despite this, it doesn't look like a 'prefab' table. I'd recommend to others - just plan to spend some time getting it assembled."
