"Just what I was looking for, and there's nothing else nearly as nice when it comes to quality out there on the we. Using it to display my knife colection (jarhead) and it's perfect for it.
My only gripe...the metal bands aren't black like the picture but rather a bronze. No worries, will paint them."

"I love this piece. I read about people having issues with the smell and weight but I did not have any issues. It is rugged and well put together. It comes with a thin piece of wood to screw into the bottom so that is does not stain the carpet. Easy to attach other than the weight of the product when flipping it over."

"Received very quickly - in great condition - packaged great! Extremely heavy but was ready for that. Put it in one place and don't plan to move it much. It looks great and adds a lot of character to the room. Would definitely recommend! Other reviews mentioned a smell - I did not notice any smell at all to the table..."

"This was an interesting piece that is being used to add an element of rustic in a family room. When it arrived, some of the pieces of wood were sticking out, making the surfaces uuneven. This was easily fixed with a hammer. The cons were the smell - something in the processing and preserving if the wood honestly smelled a little bit like kerosene, which has eventually gone away. And the weight - this item is around 95-100 pounds. So any movement to redecorate or even just clean requires rolling it around on its side."

"I got the shorter of the two a few days ago. It's pretty darn heavy. It's very cool looking. Not sure how many women would like it but this man sure does. I moved it around with my 2-wheel dolly. I don't advise lifting it. I placed it in my bedroom by some windows. Put a plant on it. Looks nice. The packaging was very good and the piece was not damaged. The one I received was fairly level. I read others had to pound it with a rubber mallet to level it out. Mine was close enough. The un-levelness of it adds character. I might get the taller one too."

"Honestly, I thought this table was going to be difficult to work with after reading the reviews even though they really liked the table. I must have been the lucky one. There is no smell to mine. It was a BIT messy when getting out of the box, so I do suggest you get a small blanket to open it on and to drag to your spot you are going to put it. The only assembly is putting the bottom on which they give you 4 screws for but I used some flat nails and it was done. It is an awesome piece. I Really Love IT!!! I suggest if you like this style, purchase it. It's a great accent table."

Could you please describe the bottom piece? I'm curious because I have wood floors and I'm concerned the table will scratch the floor if it's bumped.

"Table looks just like the picture. Very cool and unique. Only thing you may need to do is take a rubber mallet to one side and make sure the wood pieces are even. Also comes with a bottom that is not shown but simply nail in 4 nails and good to go. Really is a nice accent table."

"This is a beautiful and HEAVY piece of furniture. Approximately 95lb. It was packaged well but be warned that it is messy so open on a easy to clean floor. the easiest way was to open it and turn it upside down and slide the box off the top. Do not hurt your back by trying to take it out of the box and we didn't want to destroy the box so that was the only way. After we flipped it back over it needed some work of my husband leveling out the top and hammering back in some of the pieces using cardboard so as not to dent it. It is not sealed as well as I would have liked and not as tightly packed. The wood slides out of place easily. My husband thinks its made of rail road ties it does stink like creosote, just so you know. My husband LOVES it though. the next few days he would walk into the room and ooh and ahh over it and practically kiss it. So I think I would get into trouble if I returned it but i did give it 4 stars because of the smell, mess and work he had to do to get it to look right. He did say that once we got a man room it might disappear... ha"

"Heavy, rustic, unique. But true to HDC, arrived damaged. Some of the planks had been pushed upwards, nothing that a hammer and a discount could not fix. A truly organic and one-of-a-kind purchase. So long as you are into that. Heavy and solid, no façade here. Move to vacuum: place felt feet at the bottom on hard surfaces. Carpet: forget about it. Love it!"

"We had to wait a long time to get these because they were back ordered but, Home Decorators gave us a credit for waiting which was great. When I got home I could barely lift the boxes into the house so I knew they were good quality. The packing material was a bit over the top with two boxes and lots of wrapping, however; I knew they would be well protected. Once put in place they look great and function well. I was worried about the top not being level because of the material but they work great. I am very happy with this purchase."

"i deliberated over buying this for months and when it went on sale, on top of another sale, i knew it the time to strike. i bought the 18" table and overall i'm pleased. the pics tryed to give an as accurate a picture as possible but it's still a bit difficult to guage what the piece looks like unless it is in your possession. it was expertly packaged and brought the weight to over 100 pounds (the piece itself is 81 pounds). being that this is made by hand (i presume) from reclycled wood, there is a bit of a mess to clean up. wood shavings and chips will fall out of either end and i am a bit curious to know if any of the timbers will come loose at some time. piece has a strong, earthy, masculine feel to it and could probably work in a variety of decors. whether or not the wood is actually 100 years old from india remains to be seen but it is made in india so it's possible. was worried it would have a petroleum-like smell to it being that it was made from rail road ties but there isn't much of an odor. it is very solid and i haven't as of yet felt any wood that might splinter...top is smoothed over as is the whole piece. my only two concerns really are that sediment is always going to shift and make a bit of a mess any time you move it, and i would hate if any of the timbers shifted and moved. find a spot for it and leave it. great earthy, masculine piece."

"The product is very true to the picture online. I'm using it as an accent table in my office. It is recycled wood, so small pieces of wood come off when I've moved it around (that's why I didn't give it the full 5 stars). It is very sturdy otherwise (and very heavy!). I would like to see more sizes, I bought the taller table and I can really only put a lamp on it. It's definitely an interesting piece and looks great in the office."
