"This lamp didn't even make it very far out of the box. It is not at all as appears online. The slate material on the base of the lamp? Looks like cheap plastic and isn't even fit together well. Ick."

GORGEOUS - Worth the wait!

"I ordered two of these lamps and they were backordered for some months, but when they came, THEY WERE WORTH THE WAIT!
And speaking of "wait" - the bases are VERY heavy so "not to worry" about these lamps tipping over, they are substantial.
Tall lamps for bedside tables are hard to find at ANY PRICE - but these do the job (for reading the paper in bed) and they do it at a GREAT price, too!
They are beautiful - In another review, someone said they were more beautiful than the picture, and they are. The base is long pieces of natural stone set in a matched color grout - with some coppery streaks. I had thought the base was glass, so I was surprised that for this price, they had a natural earthy, stoney look.
The lampshades are primo - and I am a lampshade "nut" - I can't stand cheap shades, and I also want shades that DO allow the light to go through (for reading) - but shades that are not white - because white does not go in this beige bedroom. The shade has a texture to it also - gorgeous - the shades are worth the price of the lamp.
This lamp could be a "mid-century modern" look, or a contemporary look, and basically any look. My own bedroom set is actually not modern, but the fronts of the drawers having some French provincial type stenciling in slate and gold, and that is what caught my eye. It's a perfect fit and actually updates my older bedroom set.

"This lamp is tall but is so muted in color that it blends in nicely and does not detract from the room. Only one issue with a bent frame on the shade."

"This is a really beautiful lamp. The colors on the base are gorgeous; warm and earthy. The base is very solid, not chintzy and cheap. Its simple shape compliments my home. This lamp is better than I had expected; I would recommend this lamp."
