"This piece isn't as deep as the flat file drawer, but is more expensive???? The piece looks great, but was very time consuming to assemble. The drawers had to be glued because the wood is very soft. I am hoping that this piece holds up to medium to heavy use. I think it will be wonderful for my storage needs!"

"Heavy, thick hard wood. I would compare it to first class furniture stores. I will use this for craft and my business. Thank you Home Decorators and Martha Stewart! Because of the weight and size, I hired a retired vet to assemble this. Took 2 days but it was worth it - I will use his services again!"

"One look a the attached photo and you'll be able to tell I love me some Martha Stewart.
I was so PLEASED to see the quality and care that went into making each piece.
Occasionally the directions could have been a little clearer but maybe it's the way my brain works :-/

And I can't say enough about HDC Customer service. Out of 12 pieces - several of which were badly damaged in shipping - I only had to replace 2 legs and one door and they took care of everything with speed and ease."

"I looked for a long time for something in terms of quality, functionality, durability and something that looked nice and not another piece of melamine. After much debate I placed the order and held my breath. WOW! Items were shipped quickly in well packaged boxes. Directions were well written. All the pieces were there and there were only a few cosmetic marks that aren't obvious to others.
My husband and I put this and several other pieces together in about five hours. One person could put these items together but it works much more quickly and smoothly with two simply because some of the pieces are big and easier to install with two.
They are heavy pieces and are surprisingly sturdy. Of all the pieces purchased I have only one complaint regarding a track that sticks slighty. So a little more care in opening and closing.
I did buy item with a promotion and was glad I did not pay full price but I am also frugal and spend very carefully. Overall I am thrilled to finally have respectable looking pieces for "my" space. The tops are spacious enough to allow me to lay out fabric and patterns or to scrapbook in a more functional manner. Color and descriptions were accurate. I've had the pieces for amonth a so far I think it has been a reasonable investment. The only thing I cannot comment on is the durability of the finish and am hoping in time I will secure glass tops and cutting mats to help protect all pieces."

"Great storage space with this cabinet. I purchased it with the matching hutch. This cabinet shares one flaw that the hutch has. That is the front door panels don't line up correctly. The hinges are not cabinet hinges so there is no way to adjust them. Also the screws for the hinges are very small and can strip out very easily."

"I ordered this cabinet from Home Decorators and it arrived quickly, and in two separate boxes. Watch out they are HEAVY. I am skilled at putting furniture together, but I do hate how this does not use screws alone, but instead those screw locks that often do not tighten enough. It took about 3/4 hours to put together, so make time for it. I was able to put this cabinet together almost perfectly, but the hardware it came with was cheap and I had a hard time getting it to lock in place. Once the hardware is in it is almost impossible to get out, so I ended up using it and the result is one of my drawers has a hard time opening because the above cabinet section is too loose. Overall it is a quality cabinet, -heavy and great for paper arts and organization. I can't find anything else like it and it would be more costly to build it from scratch."

"This cabinet has a place for everything . . . a great first purchase for our craft room! Drawers slide smoothly. Left cabinet door has attached trays, which keep paints readily accessible. Trays situated behind the left door have plenty of room for a large collection of rubber stamps. They slide out easily, allowing stamps to be placed on a work table for use, then can easily be put away. Dividers in top drawer allow separation of decorative envelopes, embellishments and other paper craft needs. Bottom drawer is now filled with cards. Behind right door, upper shelf has room for over-sized scrapbook papers, while bottom shelf is a great location for albums in progress. Cabinet doubles as a TV stand. Sequoia finish and simple style go perfectly with the red oak trim and original hardwood floors of our 1910 home!"

"I've had this cabinet now for about 3 months. As others have said it is heavy, comes in two boxes, and has to be completely put together. In my case the room this was going in was empty so it helped to be able to spread out the parts before assembling.
Good things, as Martha would say, are that this is well packed. And I mean that it's both well protected and impressively organized. Pieces are also well marked. Make sure to put this together in the room that it will go in. In my case I hand carried individual pieces upstairs since I could not lift the boxes. I did not think the instructions were difficult but made sure to read through before I started. And I think having the pieces spread out helped.
I put most of the cabinet together myself with the exception of the top and one side. It took me probably 6 hours or so. Although the cabinet is well engineered working with the cam locks was the hardest part of the process. Getting them to all go in at the same time was difficult. It felt like something was catching but I could never figure out what it was. Eventually I got them all in and locked (I think) but it was definitely a bit frustrating. You may want to have a rubber mallet handy. I had physical bruises on the palms of my hands by the time I was done.
Once completed the cabinet is beautiful and sturdy. I choose the Rhododendron green and it's stunning. The finish is quite nice. I agree with another poster that they should make dividers for the second drawer available. I would buy them. Also perhaps provide one more shelf/drawer for the interior but not a deal breaker.
The last thing I want to mention is to situate the cabinet where you want it and make sure you level it. Otherwise the doors will never line up. I just thought that I would have to live with them looking a bit cockeyed until I read another reviewer's comment. Once I leveled the cabinet (it looked level but wasn't) the doors lined up and have the same reveal all the way around.
All in all this was a great purchase at a reasonable price. And buying when they offered free shipping was a nice plus."
