"The shelf appeared smaller than what I thought it would be (even though I measured) and was not worth the $. I returned the item and bought a comparable shelf from BB&B for half the price."

"Incredibly simple to put together. Took 3 minutes with the drill. Sturdy. Mac oak color looks nice although will probably put some metallic paint on it to give it a darker/artsy finish. Highly recommend if you want something different that's well made and affordable!"

"You need a drill, but pretty easy to assemble. Cool and original looking. We like it. The only annoying bit was some extremely adhesive stickers on one of the shelves - I was unsuccessful at getting the junk completely off despite scrubbing."

"I bought this shelf for a Buddhist altar and it more than met my expectations. I do not have anything heavy on the shelves so I cannot comment on that aspect of it but the simplicity and beautiful lines created a truly lovely altar. Other reviewers have commented on the product stickers being difficult to remove or leaving a sticky residue but that was not my experience. There was one large sticker that I had to remove slowly and carefully to avoid leaving pieces of it, but the other stickers came right off. There was a small amount of residue after removing the large sticker but it came off with a small amount of vegetable oil followed by a quick wash with soap and water. Overall, I am extremely pleased."

"This made a very nice addition to my arts and crafts style living room. The balance of the shelf is even better than in the photo. The shelf is only 6" wide so keep that in mind, but it has worked out great for most items I wanted to display. The wood has a very nice deep grain look and rich feel to it. Very pleased with this purchase. It also matches nicely with other artisan furniture sold on the site."

"Using this in a doctor's office, we wanted something to have a look of natural, simple elegance for our display. This shelf satisfied on all counts. The only thing we were surprised at was the dark oak color -- we even checked the packaging to be sure we got the correct item we ordered. The "light oak" was not light at all. The shelf still blends in with our other office decor, but it is not light color the way one would think of a light oak stain."

"These units are good only for lightweight items (small vase, a few small paperback books, framed photos, knickknacks). The shelves are cantilevered off notches in the vertical panels and held in place by three nails. Shelves bend with any significant weight.
They look nice, but visual appeal is their best trait.
Also, there is a sticker on each vertical panel and shelf that does not come off unless you scrape it off. Then you have to remove the leftover adhesive from the wood. (I used GooGone and this also removed some of the finish on the back of the vertical panels.) Anything stuck on the wood should use an adhesive that is easy to remove and does not leave residue."
