"I purchased this desk in cream/chestnust, almost a month ago and am absolutely loving it! Putting it together was rather easy and the look is timeless. It's a beautiful piece. I also purchased the matching bookcases and these items compliment eachother very well. If you are looking for a very sturdy writing desk, I would highly recommend this one."

"Very happy with my purchases. When the boxes arrived, I was a bit daunted at the prospect of assembly but pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to put together. No missing pieces and spares were supplied. Appearance-wise, the chestnut tops were a little darker than I wished but all in all, a really good buy!"

"Was a little skeptical ordering a desk, sight unseen. Was very surprised with its quality and ease of assembly. It was exactly what we were looking for in redecorating our home office. The one drawer is easy to assemble as well. There are grooves on the surface of the desk, so using it as a writing desk may be difficult for some, but for what we were needing, it works perfectly."

"Love the desk, my husband pu it together rather quickly but the drawer is difficult to open and close (perhaps that is our fault). I ordered the cream but it definitely has a green tint to it."

"Great looking, sturdy desk. The blue color is a fun, bright teal that is muted a bit by the antiquing finish. The top of the desk is a rich chestnut. Very happy with this purchase, as well as the matching bookcase."

"After searching various websites and going to stores I came upon this traditional style yet trendy writing desk. I have a small room that is painted a deep teal color. I wanted a desk that would fit the space without overpowering the room. I took a chance by ordering the blue desk since I love color. The color is more aqua which looks perfect with the walls!! The top of the desk is wood grain which off sets the color. After reading the reviews I knew the color was in the aqua family. The curvy legs give the desk a more provincial look yet the aqua is trendy. I had to contact customer service regarding a chip on the top of the desk. The representative was more than accommodating and I received credit towards another purchase. This desk is well constructed and definitely completes my newly decorated room."

"ordered this writing desk instead of a sofa table. met the expectations in size etc. but the drawer section did not align correctly. Spent a lot of time trying to get it right finally accepted it will be slightly off. Blue painted furniture not quite the color represented on the web. overall happy with the purchase but it could have been better."

"We ordered this desk in the cream/chestnut finish. The cream color has a greenish tint to it and I would not have kept it but it is for my daughter and she loves it. I would also like for the drawer to be wider. It was very easy to put together but very heavy."

"I'd been checking stores and websites for a writing desk and decided on this one. It looks just like pictured online. The assembly was somewhat easy, but the directions should be read over before you start. I had a slight problem with the drawer slides but was able to work it out. I called customer service on a Saturday afternoon and someone was there to talk to about it.
This is not a big surface to work on, but it's perfect for me. I was giving up my huge 60"x30" which provided too much space for clutter. I was prepared for paring down and this looks great and I've adapted to the space."

Need a writing pad to use as writing desk

"It's not visible on my computer screen or the magazine photos but the top is planked w/ horizontal grooves every few inches that will make my pen skip over the paper unless it buy a pad to put on it. That's really impractical for a writing desk.
I wish they'd put extra small drawers to each side of the single drawer."

"The desk is beautiful, however it has 3 cut marks across the front, on the left, right side and in the back and legs. The top of the rear corner has chipped paint.
I called customer service and they did an adjustment to the order."

"Desk is lovely addition to the room. Stain color is perfect matches my desk chair as if I ordered them at same time. Assembly was easy... put it together myself without a drill. Desk top is well constructed and very heavy. Needed someone else to help turn over. Two legs were not a perfect fit I can tell but fortunately they face the wall."

"Great large desktop for spreading out as I work, although I wish it had a few more drawers. Still worth it for the color and style it lends to workspace.
If considering placing in a tight space, note that legs stick out a little further than desktop. Also, if wanting to write directly atop surface, note that there are multiple parallel groove lines running along the length of the desk (can see ones along edge in online photo of side table). Did have to consider which legs to install on which corners, to make it less obvious that the "distress" markings (including nail holes, painted-on wear, and a crack/chip) are almost identical on each leg."
