"I love the HD cantilever umbrella but this base is not amazing and really not worth shipping since the same type of product can be had locally for less. The base came with some water already in it. Does the manufacturer check for leaks and not dry out the bases, or was the one I got someone else's return? I suspect the latter. Almost returned the item; I suspect the (recommended, cheaper) four pavers would have made the umbrella more stable and attractive than this rather unwieldy lump of black plastic."

"Perfect compliment to the cantilever umbrella. Top fill plug with side plug to drain at the end of the year. Picture looks brown, but it's black."

"I'm still not sure why the verbiage for the Cantilevered umbrella suggests to use pavers as a base, when anyone who wants a pleasing aesthetic of the correct matching base should get this one. Yes, it costs more, but you could spend less for another umbrella....
Not only is it beautiful, completed w/ base, but I was gone the weekend during a horrible storm, and my umbrella was in place as I left it when I returned (PS - I filled it with water). I'm very happy with my purchase!"

"I bought this because I thought it would look better than just throwing down pavers, and it does. I thought it was a little pricey for what it is, and it went on sale right after I bought it. The umbrella definitely won't be going anywhere with this thing. Still glad I bought this rather than the pavers."
