"I waited two months before deciding to buy this rug. I read the reviews and was concerned, but have wanted a rug with script writing for a long time and the aqua color was just the small pop of color I wanted for my hallway.
I've had the rug for 4 weeks now, in my hall that gets alot of traffic by a 5 yr old boy and two cats.
The cats are declawed so they have not pull the threads at all like some other reviews stated. We've had two dirt spots, on the background, that cleaned up very easy. The background is a loop and soft on the bare feet. The script writing is a cut pile, raised a bit, and very soft as well. The instructions state to only use the vacuum part, not the beater bar, when vacuuming the rug. I have done this and the rug has been fine. Some people stated that the rug was shedding which makes me think they used the beater bar on the vacuum. Another review said the writing was rubbing off. Unless they've modified this rug, there is no way the writing can rub off because the yarn of the writing is tufted all the way through to the carpet backing.
I am VERY happy with the quality and color of this rug! Do be careful about the size of rug you buy. The writing is the size shown on the website, so if you get the smallest rug, the amount of writing shown is minimal and will not give you the same effect you see on the website."

"I absolutely love this rug! It looks even better in person; however it is not as plush as I thought it would be. Nevertheless, I get compliments all the time on how beautiful it is. The different neutral tones were a surprise but it doesn't take away from the overall look."

"I purchase the smaller rug 2X3, and it looks like it was basically cut from one of the larger rugs. Although the quality is good, the size of the font is so large that you don't capture the text enough at this size to get the same feel that you see in the larger ones. If you are going to buy this rug, stick with the larger size. I feel like the price was too high for the resulting appearance of the rug."

"I purchased the sonnet rug in orange to contrast with our blue dining room walls. I was worried about how the orange would look in person and I'm happy I went with it rather then the terra. It's a soft yet crisp orange, not too bright or dull. The 8' round shape is perfect for the smallish space. The French script looks fantastic and will enhance the shabby chic vibe I'm going for in the room. My only complaint is how my cat has already pulled up a few yarns within a few weeks of owning it. (Per enclosed instructions, just snip off the yarns.) Otherwise, I'm very pleased with the purchase and would buy it again!!"

"Very nice rug for under dining table. Easy to clean if soiled. Like being able to take outside an wash. Be careful with vacuum carpet heads that have a rotating brush. Can pull threads."

"I love the look of this rug. It fit with my french decor in my kitchen and was exactly what I was looking for. After several days of living underneath my kitchen table, at which only my husband and I eat at, it began to get "fuzzy." The fuzziness didn't go away after we vaccumed and it just continued to get worse.
Several weeks later I called HDC and inquired about a replacement, or possibly care instructions. They were kind enough to get me a replacement, since I was still under warrenty, and hopefully this time around, the quality will be a little better."

"I've had this rug for about two weeks and part of the print is fading. Plus, there is a lot of fuzzes coming off the rug. For what I paid for this, I am not sure this rug will last very long given my experience with it thus far. I wouldn't recommend this rug unless you plan on never walking on it."

"I had really hoped this rug would work in my master bath, but it did not "pop" like I had hoped it would. However, it is a very nice looking rug and I was able to use it elsewhere. It is not very thick or plush, but it's workable. Don't regret purchasing it."

"Love the rug. Purchased for under my dining room table which has a glass top and X-base legs so most of the rug is visible. The colors and design are true to the photo and description. Adds the perfect whimsey I was looking for. The pile is short with raised lettering and very comfortable under foot. Seems to be easy to clean, although it hasn't gotten much in the way of wear and tear yet. So far, I'm very happy with the look and quality, and glad I bought it."

"I love this rug! It transformed my kitchen eating area beautifully. However, it took but a couple of weeks for the strands/fibers of the rug to get loose. Not shedding entirely, but just hanging out higher than the rest, looking like it's been 'tugged' at various places. Other than that, it's gorgeous."

"I purchased the black lettering. And like the reviews before, the background is not solid. A two tone dark & light cream on my rug ~ which works out fine. No snags & laying flat within a day. But, the lettering when rubbed the wrong way can look slightly dirty & seems to need vacuuming ~ when in actuality, it was just rubbed the wrong way. Feels good under my feet & cushier than anticipated. I use this in front of my kitchen sink & it adds some fun & whimsy. 4 stars out of 5."

"The looks of the rug are great, just what I wanted. It arrived with a slit in the back, there for "ripped"...but so big and bulky, I don't want to go throught the hassle of returning, so I sealed with duct tape since it won't show...having tremendous difficulty flattening the rug, it was rolled so tight..so have had heavy books around the edges for 1 week and still not flattened. Also, rug snags very easily..already tons of snags, more than more old rug that had been there for 5 years...so I don't think it is my family."
