Disappointing quality

"We saw this rug in the store and it looked really nice, but we weren't sure if it was what we wanted. We later decided it was so we ordered it online. We were pretty disappointed when we received it, though. We ordered in charcoal and there are little pieces of the fabric that are darker (makes it look like a hole in the rug) so the coloring isn't consistent. It isn't noticeable at first glance but if you look at it up close, it is. I know rugs typically have the disclaimer around dye color and such, but this seems a little much.
That said, it's not so bad that we returned it. That, and I didn't want to hassle with somehow fitting it in the car (we got one of the larger sizes), not to mention moving furniture again.
Still, we're not 100% happy with it and it would probably prevent me from ordering a rug here again."

"My only complaint about this rug is that it did not look like I expected. It is more of a light blue/sea green than a turquoise. I have only been having it for a week so I cannot comment on the quality. If it holds up, I will be pleased."

"I purchased this indoor/outdoor rug recently to keep in my family room, in front of the slider that leads out to my deck. I wanted something that would protect my light beige carpet from dirty footprints when the kids are running in and out of the house through the back slider. At the same time, I wanted something stylish that would blend in with my transitional decor. This rug fits the bill perfectly! The color is true to form -- looks very similar to the picture on the internet. The rug is soft yet seems durable. So far, it does the trick."

"I purchased the charcoal version. Great color, a real charcoal color and not towards the black color like I have read from other reviews. The white is an off white which I think would blend nicely with all the offered colors. Like that better than true white. I have had for a few weeks and no issues. Don't use a beater bar vacuum as directed to avoid fraying. I could see how that would ruin the rug. I have this in my front entry and am thinking about purchasing other sizes b/c of the great transitional pattern."

"I ordered this rug thinking I would get a yellow rug, I was SO disappointed, the yellow looks like a green. I took one look at it, realized the cost of returning it I rolled it back up to sell at a garage sale. I would recommend to a friend is you are wanting another color. I've ordered other items from Home Decorators and have been very happy, this just wasn't one of them."

"I really like this rug. The color is a tiny bit lighter than that shown in the catalog, but I still like how it looks. My only complaint is that with delivery of the rug I received a catalog and in that catalog my same rug was $20 cheaper than I had just paid for it days earlier. That was slightly annoying."

Shedding in high traffic area

"This is a nice looking rug and has a soft feel underfoot. Unfortunately, this rug sheds out of control. If you are going to put it in a low traffic area like under a dining room table, I think it would be fine. Ours is in our entry and people and our dog walk across it constantly. You can see that the path where people walk across is completely shedding while the edges are not. I've only had this rug for a month and I don't think it'll last another month."

"Though we are quite happy with our rug, there are a few concerns that we have. I'll start with the good...we ordered the rug in charcoal, and I was concerned that it may either be too close to black or a little greenish. Rug was neither and was true to its dark gray color. The rug is very comfortable under your feet, and lastly, it really ties our family room together. Now for our concerns...on 2 sides, the woven gray fabric isn't cleanly woven with the white padding. So if you look from the sides, the rug looks a bit choppy. I fixed this problem by turning the rug around so that these borders are facing my couch and aren't seen. Another concern is that because its woven, it's a pretty delicate rug, so the threads can puff up or loosen. In that case, a notice that came with the rug said to cut these threads and that this is normal. All in all, we are still happy with our purchase."

"The Espana Rug is a very soft feeling rug. The design is just what I was looking for to accent the pieces in my Living Room. ALthough the rug is tagged as indoor/outdoor it has a richness to it that makes it perfect in front of the Sofa."

"We were very hopeful for this rug, as it was very well priced and what we were looking for design and color-wise...however, the color was completely wrong! Instead of aqua it was faded blue and dingy white...it looked dirty and nothing like the magazine. We sent it back right away and lost money on the return shipping. A very disappointing experience."

"This rug is well made, good looking, soft and cozy, BUT, not good for outdoor use. It is on a covered terrace, and the first time it rained the rug soaked up water like a sponge. It remained squishy for days, even when hung to dry. It felt slimy when wet, and left a residual mark on the concrete floor. I bought two, and they are going back."

Great rug but inaccurate color in photo

"I have the yellow Espana rug as well as the aqua. Both rugs arrived very quickly, are good quality, not smelly, and not shedding. The aqua rug I would say is true to the aqua color in the photo (the rug is really a light teal as opposed to a light turquoise). What appears to be a white pattern on the rugs is actually light beige. The yellow rug as many others have said, has a greenish tint to it. As with the aqua rug, the pattern in the yellow rug is also a light beige and is not white. It appears cream from a distance, but when you get closer, it is definitely light beige. I would describe the yellow rug as a muted, mustard yellow and not the sunny yellow that it looks like in the photo. Both rugs seem well-made and are definitely thick enough to not need a rug pad underneath them."

"I do love the rug and I'm keeping it BUT the dimensions are a few inches smaller than stated in the description and the color is not as bright as the picture online. The color is a dusty shade of the turquoise and the white is more of a pale grey. Because I'm designing the room around the rug, it isnt aproblem but if you are purchasing to match existing colors be careful."

"I bought this rug to use in my family room - the weave is nice and luxurious - but the color is not the yellow that was photographed. In the atalog it looks much brighter and yellower, as other reviewers have said, the yellow is really greenish goldish dirty looking. Also, the mottled grey and beige of the lattice makes it look dirty even when you have just vaccummed it."

"This outdoor rug feels like a high quality indoor rug. The material is soft and feels good underfoot. I also purchased a rug pad to help prevent slipping which further helps the comfort. The charcoal color is very dark, much more than my screen showed. It still works great in my room, but expect it to be almost black."
