"While this appears to be a strudy and attractive piece, it would be very difficult to"display towels". The size of the shelves is less than 12 inches at best. We purchased it to put electronics on it (DVD Player, Wii) and it was way too small to accommodate even the smallest piece. If you are looking for decorative versus functional, you may want to consider this piece. Unfortunately we had to return it."
