"We are happy with the desk, the desk top and bookcase for my Dad's office.
The problem was, we had NO idea as to how long it would take to put the items together.
I would have liked to have been prepared for that.
When you order these items, you don't know that even the drawers need to be assembled.
Anyway, my Dad is happy and we were successful."

"I helped my fiance put the desk together. It was a challenge but overall we are happy with the end result. My only complaint is with one of the drawers. No matter what we tried we couldn't get it to line up correctly on the track and it's extremely difficult to open and close. The other drawer was no problem. We just decided to use the faulty drawer for items we don't need to access often."

"Bought two of these desks--one for my daughter and one for me. They really look great and seem to be an excellent value for the money. Finish is very pretty and desks seem solid. Also bought file cabinet and bookshelf. Office now looks beautiful!"

"This is a beautiful and sturdy desk. I am very happy with the purchase so far. The light oak is really more of a medium color, which I was happy about. Assembly took some time, but really wasn't that hard to do by myself (with a curious toddler running around). A couple pieces came slightly damaged, but customer service was great and sent out replacements right away."

"We like this desk - we bought two filing cabs, a shelf, and a double bookcase from the same collection. It did however look like it'd been assembled before and then repackaged. Three pieces were mildly damaged, but we decided it wasn't so visible as to be worth sending back. It's a decent value, but don't expect an extremely quality product. It looks nice when assembled though, and I am one with high standards about these things."

"I purchased the Artisan Executive Desk, 4 drawer filing cabinet and book case. I love all the pieces. Everything is made with solid wood. The quality is excellent. It did take some time to put everything together. My husband is pretty handy, but he did get frustrated at times. It's easier to put together with two people working together. One can read the directions while the other person tries to make everything fit. I love my new office furniture. I'm very happy with my purchases."

"This desk is a pleasant surpise. Overall, very well designed and is a beautiful piece. Assembly went well, (takes about 2.5 - 3 hours) instructions were good overall. Packaging was good with a lot of engineering effort to protect it given the distance it has traveled; however, minor damage to one piece was found due to the drawer guide (with protective tape) gouging into the wood of an adjoining piece in the box. I was able to touch up the damage which was in an area that is not really visible. This desk is not the cheapest, but it is one of the best do it yourself kits I have seen. The mission table was also purchased and is very nice as well."

"It is a nice piece. However there are workmanship issues including misalignments of pieces to make a cock-eyed connection on the cabinet door. It takes around 3 hrs to put together but once all is said & done it is pretty and makes my office collection complete. This is the hardest piece of this series"

Handsome Desk for the Price

"This is a well made piece of furniture for the price. You should not expect top-of-the-line hardwood quality. But, it is mostly solid wood with veneers and it is a handsome looking desk. I find the assembled desk to be quite solid and sturdy. I did not have the issues some people mention regarding it coming apart. It is important to assemble the posts and cams correctly. Follow the instructions closely. It took me about 2.5 hours to assemble it. There was some minor scuffing on two pieces that did not show once assembled. Overall, the packaging is excellent. I bought two other pieces in this line and I am very happy with my purchase.
One minor compliant is that the middle opening is not wide enough to accomodate a task chair with arms. Thus, my chair will not roll completely under the desk and out of the way when not in use."
