"i purchased this because i wanted a console table with drawers and an open shelf. this item fit the bill perfectly. it arrived quickly in great condition and was easy to assemble. it's sturdy and functional. now for the issues... first, the color is different than it appears on line. on the computer, the macintosh oak looks dark/espresso, but in reality it's a medium brown. it looks much more true to color in the catalog. second, the back of the piece isn't solid wood. it's cheap pressboard so the table needs to be placed against a wall. third, i think the value is poor. i have furniture made of nicer wood that cost significantly less and does not need to be placed against a wall. in the end, i'm satisfied with my purchase because it fit my needs, but had i seen it first, i would not have purchased it at this price."

"This is a great piece of furniture. My husband and I just recently purchased it for our entryway area. I would like to thank the other reviewers that posted, without them I would have been putting this piece together for 6 hours instead of 3! When I had most of the assembly completed I realized I had screwed the posts in too tight and the cambolts wouldn't screw on right. I broke one in the process but there were extras included. Overall it looks really great and is sturdy. The finish on ours is definitely on the cherry side which we were delighted with as it matches our floors and other furniture perfectly. The drawer pulls are black (they looked more pewter in the website picture). The shipment came within 4 days. We are happy with our purchase and will definitely buy from Home Decorators again!"

"This is a well made piece of furniture for the price. You should not expect top-of-the-line hardwood quality. But, it is mostly solid wood with veneers and it is a handsome looking console. I find the assembled console to be quite solid and sturdy.
It is important to assemble the posts and cams correctly. Follow the instructions closely. It took me about 1.0 hour to assemble it.
Overall, the packaging is excellent. I bought two other pieces in this line and I am very happy with my purchase."

"Shipment came in a timey manner. After I read the instructions the assemblage was pretty easy. I had gotten an artisan desk previously and the assemblage was similar. Only downside was there should be better instructions concerning the cambolts. If the stem is screwed in too far the cambolt does not work or connect well. I lost two cambolts that way but thankfully the unit came with some added ones. Overall a nice piece of furniture. I think the price is a bit high (never seems to be on sale like other artisan pieces) however, but I got it with a coupon because I purchased the artisan desk. You won't be dissapointed. The color matches the artisan computer desk very well."
