"This shelf is beautiful! I have gotten a lot of compliments on it already. I bought it for my living room to display accent pieces, picture frames and photo albums. I also put my stereo on it which is tall but the shelves are removable so I assembled this without the bottom shelf. It was super easy to assemble...I did it alone and it took me just over an hour. I would definitely recommend this shelf!"

"We purchased this shelf after having our eyes on the Serena and Lily Hayworth shelf (which is well over triple the cost). I can't imagine liking theirs anymore than this one. It's beautiful, easy to put together and friends who see it compliment on how stylish it is. Very pleased!"

Beautiful but a pain to attach doors

"Assembly went smoothly UNTIL we got to the cabinet doors..it was a huge headache..so frustrating to discover that the pre-fabricated holes were a little off position in order to align the door hinges --and where there was supposed to be 4 holes to screw the hinges to the unit there were only 2 :/ Had to get a handyman to drill the missing holes in order to mount the cabinet doors correctly..he was frustrated himself.. Please be forewarned, assembling this requires more than just a screwdriver and a couple of screws, If you do not own a drill or know how to use one then you've got a situation there. Good luck.."

"Looks great, Very sturdy. I use if for a mix of books and mostly decorative items but I think it's study enough to be used for all books.
Easy to assembly. Wish I could remove the mirrors behind the lattice on the doors for easier cleaning and then just put them back in. Cleaning the doors is time consuming."

"Although this piece was somewhat annoying to assemble, I am very happy with the end result. I bought 2 and have them on either side of my TV stand. They turned my boring small TV stand into a beautiful unique entertainment center. The mirrors at the bottom are a nice touch, as they reflect my area rug and bring the look full circle."

Great Bookcase - but not very stable

"The bookcase comes in pieces and you need to assemble it, much like something from IKEA. It was not very easy to assemble a few of the pieces (like the back of the unit needs to be screwed in, it's not easy to do if you are not used to it).
But, once assembled it looks great! a really beautiful addition to our living room. I get comments on it all the time, and I'm glad we purchased it.
Please note that if you have small children this bookcase MUST be attached to the wall - otherwise it is very unstable, I was afraid it would topple over just sitting empty. Once we attached it to our wall, I felt better about it, but the downside is that I can't move it in the future."

Cons-
• Hard to assemble
• Did not include proper hardware, had to buy missing pieces at hardware store
•Front doors don't close properly, have to close both at the same time
•one of the feet is defective
• sides of shelves dont connect properly and there is a gap between them.

Bottom line- I had a handyman assemble this for me and make any necessary modifications to make this bookcase work because I love the design so much and it was exactly what I was looking for. But other than that it's not worth the price. Should be priced much lower for this level of quality."
