"This is a very substantial and attractive chest that holds a lot. It helped me consolidate home office materials in one very convenient-to-access piece that also doubles as sturdy seating. Assembly is not difficult but it does take some time. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that the predrilled holes for the lid hinges weren't located correctly. That was the only problem I had during the assembly, but it was corrected using a tape measure and drill."

"Really love this piece. it is spacious, looks great, sturdy. The only reason the workmanship and value are not getting 5 stars is because one of the pieces split a bit as we were assembling it. We used wood glue and a clamp to repair it (the concern being it would become a real issue if we didn't). I'm thrilled with how it looks at the end of the bed, frequently becoming a place for us to sit and chat with the kids."

"I put this together by myself, with a little ingenuity. It is sturdy, beautifully made & very spacious inside. The details are really great...cork board on lid, sliding top tray & vertical dividers. I put all my photo albums & boxed photographs in it. It's the perfect storage space and looks beautiful as an end table in my living room."

"This chest is beautiful! It is a nice heavy/sturdy piece, and it's functional with 3 compartments, a sliding tray, and a small corkboard on the inside of the lid. I don't have a mudroom or large pantry, so I bought this to store gardening implements, gloves, pet food, pet toys, leashes and such, but I sort of feel guilty using something this nice for that. It was delivered quickly and was well-packaged, no damage in shipment. It was easy to put together - parts were labeled and all pre-drilled holes lined up. I'm not that handy but I was able to pretty quickly assemble most of it alone. The only difficulty was attaching the lid as its fairly heavy, needed one person to hold it steady and firmly while another drilled in the screws. I'm very happy with this purchase."

"While this isn't an antique heirloom chest it is an awesome chest. I has three compartments inside with a ledge that allows a tray to move across the length of the chest. The quality is great for the price! The only drawback, which is my fault rather than the fault of the manufacturer, is that I wanted to use this as a coffee table. It's too high for that. And the back of the chest was meant to be placed against a wall because you can see the cam locks, not very attractive. Like I said, my fault because I didn't actually look at the height measurements and evaluate. Oh well, works perfect! I love it!"

"I love this bench!!! It was shipped in perfect condition- no pieces missing or damaged. I assembled it by myself and used the shipping styrofoam to prop up the base when putting on the hinges. Other than the hinges everything can be done by one person. I agree with the comment about the stickers being difficult to remove but the pieces are all well marked. The bench is very heavy and fits into my back hall area setup for use as a mud room and laundry area. The bench will house boots, slippers, and shoes and one section will be used for laundry supplies. It was a great value as well. Overall it is an excellent piece!!!"

"This is a nice bench. I knocked it down a star due to some shipping issues (which does not reflect an otherwise 4 star rating for the quality and appearance).
We bought the black bench for a special project. We did not install all of the internal dividers so that it is now a big open chest. I was concerned this would cause problems with stability - but it does not seem to have had any negative effect. We also installed a motion sensor light which illuminates when the lid is opened.
The only issues we had were that the cork board in the lid makes the chest about 1 inch shorter than you would think based on the dimensions listed on the site. The hinge installation instructions were also not 100% accurate, but I was able to make a quick adjustment to the drill location of the brackets - which remedied the problem. There is no easy way to attach a seat cushion, but I am sure we can design something that will work.
I was able to put it together in about 45 minutes with the assistance of a power screwdriver."

"The storage bench was easy to put together. It has 3 deep bins to store large and odd size items in. The sliding drawer slides across the entire top of the bins. We are using it in the kitchen to store large cookware items that don't fit under the kitchen cabinets. The slider drawer we have small tools that are handy to reach for without having to go to the garage for a hammer, etc. The bench fits nicely under our large kitchen window and is a nice place to sit and view outside."

"Pleasantly surprised by the quality of this piece. Good solid wood - strong enough for several people to sit on - heavy lid with a nice sturdy hinge. The sliding panel is a nice feature that exposes the buckets below while providing a tray for smaller items. Because of the size/weight it is definitely a 2-person construction job (or one person + some braces or something to help hold things while you screw things in).
only complaint - the markings on the hinge blocks were reversed which caused us to install them upside down (and thus it wouldn't close). Took a while to realize the problem (we trusted that the side the wood said should be up was, in fact, meant to be down."

We installed the blocks incorrectly as well. My husband kept saying, they just have to loosen up (meaning for the top to close). I knew better though! I knew I had read a review that mentioned something about the top not closing. SOOO THANKS! This was very helpful, and we love the storage bench.

"I bought this piece for additional storage in my bedroom. It's my first purchase from this website and was unsure of the quality of this product, but . . I found out that I made a great purchase!! The unit was easy to build. Directions were clear and easy to follow. I don't consider myself particularly handy so I expected the worst, but it really was easy to put together. The finished product looks great. I'm really pleased with this purchase."

"Having an 8 month old who is increasingly active and collecting more toys by the day, we needed some extra storage. This chest is perfect and has plenty of storage space for her toys and our extras (blankets, etc...). Assembly was quite easy, though I would recommend using a power screwdriver for some of the parts. Just saves time and sweat. The chest looks great in our living room and is safe for a child as when it's open it stays open well until someone closes it. Seems durable and like a piece that will be with us for years to come."

"We chose to purchase this storage chest because we live in a small house with little storage options. We are actually using it as a coffee table in our living room. It works exactly as we had hoped! It is very sturdy, decorative, functional, and has a generous amount of storage space. We had little difficulty putting it together...it requires minimal tools. The only thing that bothered me was the manufacturer having put stickers on the wood (to show you which pieces went where) that were hard to remove and required an adhesive solvent to get all of the stickiness off the wood. That is the only "con" for me. This is a great piece at a great price!!"

"Excellent product. LOTS of storage and very nice quality. Perfect for a kids play room or living room. Put it together myself in about 30 mins. It says two people needed, but it can be done with one. With another person helping it would be a breeze to put together. Very satisfied."
