"There were three independent places where the wood was cracked when I received this bench. Because of the weight and complexity of re-packing I opted to wood glue them. I was offered a discount by HD for this. The bench top pieces did not fit square (not even close) - the only pieces that did not, but those are the most visible. I ended up removing one of the dowel plugs that hold them in place so they at least approximated a fit. I could almost give this bench 4 stars for appearance, but at some point you have to factor in functionality. There is no easy way to clean out the inside. I suppose I could drill a door knob sized hole and install a temporary plug. It is pretty and not expensive, just expect plenty of flaws if you get this."
