"This package shipped on time and got to me on time. When I opened it up and started layout out the parts, I realized I had 4 left drawer sides and 2 right drawer sides. Due to the assembly method, this made it impossible to put together the 3rd drawer. I have ordered the entire hawthorne bedroom set and every single item had a part missing, bad, incorrect pilot hole etc. It has been a frustrating process of which I am tired of and will no longer be purchasing from Home Decorators."

"I was discouraged at first when the product arrived 3 days late with several damaged pieces...the box was torn and appeared to be haphazardly taped together. I called customer service to explain my dismay and was very pleased with the customer service rep. She was able to send me new pieces to replace the damaged ones and they arrived in a weeks time. Assembly was difficult, so I wouldn't recommend it for someone who isn't handy. Drawers are also shallow so don't expect to store a ton. Other than that, the piece looks great in my master and for the price I do believe it was worth it."

"When the package arrived at my home, the box was not damaged. When I opened the package 3 of the top four pieces I removed showed signs of poor workmanship...chipped top, one completely split drawer piece etc."

"Definitely plan on this taking some time to assemble, but the instructions are good, and all holes aligned and all parts were present. The finished product looks nice, but one piece of ours cracked during assembly. We have not returned it since this was already the 2nd shipping attempt (the first got damaged in shipping)."

"I've purchase several items from Home Decorators and ordered the Hawthorne 3+2 in white. It is by far the lowest quality item I've purchased. It is not made from "sturdy, solid wood" as is stated in the description. Namely the frame itself was made from MDF. MDF is a pressed wood product which cracks easily. I ordered two of these units and the frame on one arrived with a crack in the frame and the other frame cracked during assembly. I would not by it again. Stick to the stained wood pieces - it is harder to hide sub-standard materials."

"This item is very poor in many ways. Did not receive the hardware when this item came had to call and wait 2 weeks for hardware. boards did not have the grooves in the correct place and had to be taken apart to get the drawers to slide correcty.
This item is very disapointing!!

"The piece is beautiful, made well and very sturdy. However, it had two major cracks in it. One on the front , just below the top - about 4 inches long and on the back around 7 inches long. It was hard to put together and the thought of taking it apart and sending it back was just too much trouble. I'm really disappointed - it is a beautiful piece."

"The Hawthorne chest I recently bought is a good value. It is sturdily built, handsome, not too expensive, and with good drawer space. My only concern, and it's a minor one, is that the drawers are not as deep as I had hoped."

"It looks great in the picture! It comes in a flat box. Ok so we have to assemble it no big deal. But my husband took it out of the box and was checking to make sure all of the parts were there and over looked a really big hand print in the paint (we bought the white one)on one of the drawers that we did not find until we were putting the drawers together which was the last thing we did. One of the drawers split when we screwed in the screw. The paint joints on the side of the dresser are cracked. We ended up patching a lot and painting it to make it work for our grandaugter. We paid a lot for some wood, screws and dowels."

"i purchased this dresser for my baby's nursery. i did not realize how difficult it would be to put together. the dresser came in so many different pieces and having to put everything together was really difficult. i would have rather spent the extra $100 and purchased the fully assembled dresser from Land of the Nod. Too pricey for all that work!"

"Oh, this is SO pretty! I just love it! It's light and airy looking and fits beautifully in my bedroom -- brightens up the space!
Assembly was easy -- the instructions were excellent and easy to follow. Also, fun to put together and a great sense of satisfaction when it was done. All my neighbors dropped by to admire it -- very impressed!
A small problem when one of the wooden pieces started to split at the screw-in point, but when it was assembled, all this was perfectly well reinforced by the rest of the structure -- so No Big Deal!
I put colored glass (Ok...plastic) drawer pulls on it and it looks very merry --
Just adorable and completely worth it!

"I bought this for my 24 year old daughter because of the appearance and price. She did most of it herself. The assembly was not extremely difficult, but took a couple of hours and parts of it required a second person. Compared with other products I have bought from Ikea which required assembly, the workmanship was quite good. Holes were well drilled and pieces lined up properly. The only problem was that one knob cracked while being screwed in. I assume the company will replace it. I should add that we used a power screwdriver which made things much easier."

"The description of this item says it is solid wood. While the drawer backs and sides are solid wood, the front, top, and side are not. They appear to be particle board with some sort of veneer. While the dresser looks nice, it isn't what I expected."

"After reading the reviews prior to my purchase of this piece, I was eager to order it.
When it arrived in a VERY tattered box (not a huge deal), three pieces were broken - one in half, and the other two with major splits down the center of the piece which would have split further with even the slightest pressure. Upon assembling what I could - which took way more than 45 minutes - even with another person, another major crack in the wood appeared on one of the side panels. I don't know if I received a "Friday" production unit or what, but now I can only finish three of the five drawers and have to wait for the replacement pieces. The drawers are also pretty shallow, they need to be deeper.
The fit and finish has MUCH to be desired. It would be a nice piece if they could improve on the materials - this piece is shoddy all the way around."
