Great result

"I bought two of these....turned out very nice. The cam lock system is fairly difficult....I was never sure whether I got it engaged or not, and several of the locks got damaged while trying to screw them in. Also, it is absolutely necessary to have two sets of hands to put these together...impossible to do by yourself.
My biggest complaint is that I now have six kitchen garbage bags full of styrofoam packing material that cannot be recycled ANYWHERE! For a company that generates so much of this waste, I would appreciate it if they would pack with recyclable material.

"I am a veteran at putting together Ikea furniture, including a bookcase with doors before. This bookcase stinks. We have been 4 hours and it is falling apart. DO NOT BUY THIS bookcase!!!
My husband is currently terminately ill in a nursing home, so it has been here 5 days. So I cannot return it. I am furious beyond words. I will have to hire someone to put this together once he has passed. SO what was supposed to relax me - putting this together- just stressed me totally out.
Do NOT buy this.

"The bookcases I purchased was so beautiful and had the look of expensive and fine furniture and even had the smell. Both cases were even the same grain in look which made them match to A TEE... I just love the quality and the prices are unbelievable."

"We use this unit to display my plastic aircraft models; even with light loads unit is unstable, unless secured to the wall (attachment wire is provided with unit).
It meets our expectations for a display cabinet at a reasonable price. Glass doors keep dust away.

Wobbles
Date:September 25, 2010
"Bought two 6-shelf bookcases. Seems the base and legs are solid wood, but the rest is made of particle board. Lots of assembly time and effort is required--similar to IKEA flat pack, boxed furniture. Instructions are poor--trying to save paper?--so look carefully at the diagrams. Do not use a power screwdriver, because you might over-torque the cam bolts. Try to use the included hex wrench and flat-head screwdriver. After attaching the side panels to the bottom panel (base/legs), the whole bookcase wobbles. The cam bolts use cam locks, which grab and pull the cam bolt head tighter. I tightened more--the bookcase still wobbled. Eventually, I used a flat-head screwdriver and tightened enough to break a cam lock. What this bookcase needs are longer cam bolts to secure the side panels to the base--this is simply bad engineering, easily remedied with the appropriate length cam bolts (and perhaps the use of more cam bolts). It seems the designer used the same cam bolt length for the shorter bookcases as for the tallest 6-shelf bookcase."

LOVE IT!
Date:August 7, 2010
"I've owned this bookcase for a couple of years now and I LOVE it! It's so beautiful. The only issue I had was when putting on the back. The board was a little warped and we had to put a few extra nails. I wish the back was a bit more solid. Mine has been full for quite some time and I'm looking to order another one."

Nice Cabinet but Difficult to Assemble
Date:March 26, 2010
"It is finally a very nice looking cabinet and I like it. But it is a bear to put together -- there is absolutely no way 1 person can do it. I did all I could do -- the directions are very sketchy and if you haven't put one together before, it's a bear. I finally called friends and they came and we worked on it several hours, took it apart and had to put it back together again, in spite of the directions. There is just not nearly enough info, and someone has to hold the doors steady to get them screwed into the hinges. It looks very nice now it's done but I wouldn't order another one without someone hired to put it together. If I hadn't gotten help I would have had to try to figure how to put it together to send it back."

Sturdy, beautiful bookcase
Date:March 2, 2010
"Bought one last year; only difficulty in assembly was attaching/tightening the magnets to be flush with the doors. Just don't overtighten too early so that it can be adjusted as needed when the doors are installed.
Overall it's a beautiful bookcase for a reasonable price in this style (which is increasingly hard to find) and we subsequently purchased another one. Initially we were uncertain if it looked as nice as in the online photo."

A Beautiful Bookcase
Date:February 21, 2010
"I received my delivery 3 days ago and my husband and I put it together last night. It was fairly easy to assemble with just a slight issue with the magnetic connectors that keep the doors closed. The pieces were packed so well I could not believe my eyes..most of the wood is very good except for the backing which is sort of like a thick cardboard. The completed product is absolutely beautiful and it looks wonderful in the living room...I love this bookcase and would buy another one..."

"I am very happy with the two queen anne bookcases. Although time consuming to put together, the directions and labeling are perfect.
The back panel should be all one piece with a nice finished exterior.
I would purchase from Home Decorators again and have already purchased 3 other items, a desk, 3 drawer lateral file and a two drawer file. I am waiting for a printer stand to match for my office. My husband and I were decorating his brand new fitness facility Renaissance Fitness and the items complimented the surroundings."

I'm Buying Another
Date:September 13, 2009
"This bookcase is fantastic. The assembly was a little involved and time-consuming, but it wasn't difficult. I would recommend having someone help you put the doors on. Also, if the bottom of the doors are rubbing against the base of the bookcase, don't be alarmed. I put the back onto the piece, the bookcase became centered, and the doors stopped rubbing. Overall, I am exceptionally please with this piece, and I intend to buy another in a few days."

Great Bookcase
Date:June 12, 2009
"As always, very fast and careful shipping. I assembled the bookcase myself after taking the advice of an earlier reviewer to assemble in the room where it was to be used because of the total weight. I had no problems with the assembly and the bookcase is well finished with great workmanship. I had first thought I wanted the same bookcase but with no doors. Now I'm very happy that I got the one with doors. It adds to the richness of the piece and allows me to store less attractive items behind the door frame. Don't hesitate to buy this item."

Beautiful despite wrong parts
Date:April 3, 2009
"We received 2 left side door, rather than 1 left and 1 right, causing us to remove all of the hardware. Luckily, the door handles did not have to be moved, which would have made the piece unusable. Also there was spot in the back piece where the venier was lifting. This cannot be seen with the piece if loaded. Once we ironed out the problems, the piece looked beautiful."

Beautiful and very functional!
Date:December 20, 2008
"I bought one of these cabinets last year and filled it quickly with books. As my book collection grew, so did my need for another cabinet and it was only the logical choice to buy a matching piece. They both display my eclectic library very nicely as well as my candles and a few other miscelaneous items that previously had no 'home'. It was easy to assemble and all the parts fit together nicely. One suggestion though is to be sure you assemble it in the room you are going to put it in as it is heavy to move assembled and much easier to move in pieces!"

Major disappointment!
Posted February 6, 2011
Perhaps the bookcase I received is defective in workmanship? Standard size hard cover books do not fit onto more than two-three shelves! Adjustment to shelves had no effect. Problem the same for less than standard size books also.
Note the display photograph of unit. Only three shelves display books in upright position.
