Just what we expected
Date:June 13, 2013
"Good storage option for a small bathroom, similar to other products on the market with a bit more classy look to it. I never anchor these to the wall, merely prop the front bottom legs slightly to the back with a homemade insert to keep it kicked back against the wall. Pretty sturdy once this is done and cabinets are filled."

"My husband assembled this piece for me and there was a good bit of swearing as screw and screw was stripped, the glass door split as well. He is a woodworker as a hobby and commented on how cheap and ill made the piece was. "How much did you pay for this?" Then he suggested I pay more for a quality piece. There also should be a notation on the assembly instructions not to attach the bottom piece to the legs until the cabinet is in its final location. Very heavy piece too."

Great Addition to the Guest Bathroom
Date:January 29, 2013
"This cabinet is well made, sturdy and looks great in our guest bathroom. I was concerned it might look cheap, but doesn't. I can't comment on the assembly as someone else put it together for me. My only disappointment is that the color is much lighter than it appeared on my screen. Other than that, I am very happy with the piece. And so are my guests now that they have more space to put their toiletries!"

A good purchase
Date:January 14, 2013
"We really are enjoying our space saver above our toilet. It definitely helps to keep our bathroom organized, yet fully furnished with the necessities one may need. Assembly went relatively quickly and my 8 yr. old was able to do a lot of it by himself. We did have to take the bottom bracket off to lift the space saver over the toilet but it was easy to put back on. We are quite satisfied with the quality for the reasonable price. The only downsides we noticed were that our wooden doors are a bit uneven and the way to attach the unit to the wall for safety is a bit archaic. We ended up just driving a couple of screws through it in the cabinet area so it would be stable. I would recommend it to someone searching for bathroom storage."

"there are many pieces that need to be put together.
Cam locks are a little cheap but hold. If you read instructions carefully the assembly takes about 1 hour.
I had to modify the lower cross brace due to water line position but other than that went well.
I wish they would include covers for the cams as they are very noticable.
Every one that has seen it really likes it. It does look like a well made product

Nice Piece
Date:October 30, 2012
"Overall the piece is decent quality. The doors are really difficult to assemble yourself... try to have someone around to help you with it. Also, chips and scratches easily so utilize the cushy packaging while you put it together. As for value... it is a little pricy for what it is but worth it to have all matching pieces I guess."

measure before you buy
Date:October 7, 2012
"First, this was a bit difficult to get put together. Once it was put together, it turns out it won't fit over the toilet. You need several inches of space between the toilet and the wall, because part of the cabinet, sits behind the toilet. It would be better if that back piece were shorter so it could sit above the tank. So now I have an expensive over the toilet storage unit that I can't use. And it is too expensive to ship it to return it. I also like how the photo does not show the plumbing. This was another problem. Even if it had fit behind the toilet, the piece that stablizes it at the bottom would not have fit. All in all, it was a poor purchase."

Beautiful piece
Date:August 23, 2012
"This is such as a beautiful piece, I have my contrator put it up for me, it just brightens up the bathroom like no other space save. The mateiral is so smooth and high-quality, it stands on bathroom floor firmly like real piece of wood furniture. I love it, and I'm planning to buy another one in white for my downstairs bath room.
I rated assemly as moderate because I had my contractor put it up for me."

"Very pleased with the spacesaver. Well constructed. Had to remove part of the back because tank was too close to wall. Received lots of compliments on my purchase. Looks very professional. I love the glass window for display. Lots of space to put decorations. Reviews of others facilitated my decision to purchase this item. It was an excellent purchase. A bit expensive but well worth it."

"Arrived on time and packed fabulously.. No broken pieces.. This is the best "put it together yourself" piece of furniture that I have ever bought. Very nice workmanship and, if you take your time to follow the directions, it fits together perfectly!!! Totally worth the money and completes my newly remodelled bathroom!!! Only problem was the water line which was right in the way of the support beam at the bottom, but all in all Great product!!!"

Nice space saver
Date:April 2, 2012
"I like the space saver although I was disappointed that the top right corner of the cabinet had a really bad place on it. If it hadn't been so much trouble to get it all back in the box, we would have exchanged it. We felt it shouldn't have come that way. We are going to have to try and touch up the top corner which is chipped out. Wish it were the other corner...it wouldn't show so bad. Other than that, it looks great."

"This piece is crafted well. The pressed wood used is of high quality: it is very hard. This was needed because I needed to drill additional holes to raise the support bar at the bottom of the unit because my water line is too high for this. I think it would be helpful if they drilled several holes to make it easier for people, and then just have some white colored plastic cap to cover holes not used. Still, drilling a few holes is easy enough for most people. And, the pressed wood is nice and hard, so you shouldn't have any structural problems with cracking wood and the like.
The unit wouldn't fit flush against the wall because the cutout at the bottom wasn't high enough to clear my baseboards. Our base boards are five and 1/2 inches high, but the furniture gives 5 inches of clearance. I was able to use a circular saw to cut out a little bit more. Again, the pressed wood is very hard stuff, so it is easy to work with. The only part that will come off is the part you saw.
My unit would stand sturdy on it's own until you went to open the doors: then it would pull and lean forward. So, I installed the two screws into the wall for support that came with the unit. This was a little tricky to do because they do not include a template. They should really include a template, so I have to give a (very light) booooo to the manufacturer in this regard. But, you can make your own template, which I did. Then the holes/screws will line up with the hinges in the unit. The install of the wall support puts the top of the unit flush against the wall.
But, now the bottom of the unit might not be completely flush against the wall. To give the unit a little more support, I took some very thin chips of wood and wedged them between the legs of the unit and the floor. This pushed the bottom of the unit flush against the wall, and wedged it against the wall. This results in the look and feel of a built in cabinet that just cannot budge.
I would buy this unit again without hesitation. I would suggest to take it very slow if you run into the water line, wall support (no template), and/or baseboard problem many of us ran into. These are pretty easy fixes. If you don't feel you can make these modifications, a friend or neighbor with very little skill (but a little) will be able to make these very simple modifications.
Another thought: there are hard woods (the real stuff) throughout this unit used where it counts for looks. It is the best looking unit out there, in my opinion. Just look at the crown molding: a great big yippee goes out to the manufacturer for the crown molding and use of hardwoods. I feel the paint job is very good and should hold up nicely. Hinges used for the doors are of low quality and lining up the doors to be even took patience.
All and all, this is one great piece of furniture that deserves a rating of five stars.
Packaging used for shipping is of great care. You would be hard pressed to have any damaged parts. There is packaging materials between every single piece and part. You'll have a lot of garbage/packaging to throw out, though. That is garbage that is very welcome in my book, and it should be in yours too.
I hope you decide to purchase one of these. You won't regret it."

Excellent piece as advertised
Date:August 22, 2011
"The most important consideration in assembly is having enough floor to ceiling room to raising the
spacesaver over the toilet, and clearing the back with the lower cross brace. It takes two people to do this. The instructions were good except for this point. Takes about 2- 3 hours for assembly. Beautiful and functional piece. We love it.

Date:August 8, 2011
"This is my 2nd space saver. This one is a little bigger and heavier, which is a plus for me. It was very easy to assemble-instructions were very helpful. The only concern I have, is that, the hinge holes are pre-drilled and the doors hang crooked. I had to make some adjustments to make it look better. It looks great in the bathroom. I would recommend this product to a friend."

Happy customer
Date:July 19, 2011
"Don't let the price fool you. Over the years I have bought many things from HDC. I have never been disappointed. Maybe that is why I keep returning. I have noticed over the years that the assembly has gotten easier and the instructions more clear. I thank the company for that. This little cabinet is just the touch my new bathroom needed. It is sturdy, not flimsy at all. It came with screws to attach to the wall but they are not needed in my case. It does not even wobble when opening the doors. I recommended HDC to a friend and she just recieved a different cabinet the other day and is very happy with it."

Exactly what I needed
Date:July 15, 2011
"I bought the space saver since it looked a lot like my existing cabinetry in the bathroom. The finish is a bit different but is so close I doubt anyone would notice. The assembly took awhile but was so easy. i did the assembly all by myself even though they recommend two people. No special tools were needed. In fact, I think the only thing I brought out was one screwdriver to put the brackets on and the knobs on the doors. I replaced the knobs since they were a generic silver button type. Looks great and now I have a place to keep my medicines and healthcare products."

Hampton Bay 2 door spacesaver

"First let me say, we finished assembly and it looks okay in the small bathroom we have. Some of the screws broke and we had to go buy extra. We also had to make adjustments to get it to fit behind the toilet.
I was going to buy more Hampton Bay furniture but I'm not sure I will after this experience."
