"I purchased two of these bookshelves for my living room. They were simple to put together. I would recommend two person assembly, since you have to line up all the holes and dowels on a side. They look very nice. The color is not as honey colored as I would have liked, it is a little reddish, but they go well with the other oak furniture."

Great Value for a Sturdy Bookcase

"I ordered this bookcase to hold a lot of books so I wanted something that could handle weight and this bookcase is well designed to do just that. I got the 5 shelf model, it took my husband about 30 minutes to put it all together with a power tool. The only drawback is the orangey color of honey oak but it is in a corner away from my other pieces so it blends in OK."

"This bookcase was not the color I expected and I'm not sure the quality of it was the same as one I previously purchased from HDC but for the money (I got it on sale) it was decent. It is sturdy and pretty easy to put together although the directions were lacking somewhat. Comes partially pre-assembled."

"Bought two 5-shelf models. They look great and their color matches the website pretty closely. One had minor damage on one of the vertical pieces, and I wasn't able to connect the top piece at all four corners because one of the holes was out of alignment. The other had a screw hole that hadn't been drilled out widely enough, requiring a bit of power drilling to complete the assembly. In spite of these flaws, I like the bookshelves and would recommend them."

"I've gotten a few bookcases from Home Decorators...after buying one, I liked it so much I got two more. About the only thing odd was that the kit included pegs to cover screw holes, but there were no instructions...so just did as best I could. Some were loose, some really tight. Overall, though, a really nice piece."

"I bought this for my 3-year-old son's room and I'm very happy with my purchase. It looks great and is sturdy. Assembly was easy. My only complaint is that the little wood pegs that go in the holes to cover the screw heads keep falling out. Overall a great shelf."

"The bookcases arrived in less than 5 days. I peeked into the boxes to confirm the color and was delighted - just the color I wanted. Next came the construction, it was a breeze - the pieces were all there and everything went together without a problem. Even the plugs to finish the project went in perfectly - not at all like some of the reviews stated. They look beautiful and are sturdy. I would order them again if I needed more."

"A very nice bookcase at a very reasonable price - attractive and made of real wood. When we need more bookcases, we'll definitely come back to buy more. The color is a little redder expected - doesn't match the "honey oak" kitchen cabinets near which it stands (holding our cookbook collection, most of it), but we never expected an exact match. The wood split a bit on one upright piece when we put in the pegs that hide the screws on the uprights (not enough of them for the bottom edge of the top piece - very odd) - not really noticeable, but do be careful when you put yours together."
