"The design is nice and the color (Cherry) is very appealing. The lamp is light weight and not very sturdy. A very strong fan would blow it over, and it would suffer damage as a result. I feel it would be improved with a 1/2" or 3/4" solid wood base, providing more weight at the bottom. making it more stable. However they are very appealing and do look very nice in my living room. I am happy with them as a result."

"This turned out to be exactly what I expected although it was a little taller than I measured. the lamp has clean lines and fits well in my bedroom which has a Japanese motif. Takes a bit to assemble but no major problems."

"The lamp is smaller then I imaged. The amount of light is nominal it requires a 15 watt bulb not included. Ok for conversation lighting or you just want some light but not very much."

"I love the way this lamp looked on the web, and liked it from a distance when I put it together. But the sides gapped and didn't look good close up. And the overall quality was cheap. Putting it together was challenging because the screws were so small and the drilled holes were too small for the small screws!
Home Decorators was great, though -- allowed me to return it with no questions asked. This is the first thing I've purchased from them that I have returned."

"We bought this on it's nice urban/asian appearance.

We have the black taller unit. As we do not care for flourescent light, we installed an amber 25watt incandescent lamp which tends to give off more a golden colored luminence through the rice paper; though a bit less bright than the recommended bulb, it is MUCH warmer Alibaster tone, gives a nice hue of tone, and we leave it on all night as a night light as well.

Many have commented on the nice style and lighting hue choice. The EEF bulbs having a 60 hz. switching component, are just too harsh a light we felt. (if you are sensitive to 60Hz. switching)

The style works in a variety of settings and locations, and seems to mix well with other contemporary furniture we have. It gives a nice blend of modern and traditional Asian
feel. It is easy to assemle, and one should be careful assembling as it's somewhat fragile, but with little care, can be easily assembled.

It IS a great piece!"

"I ordered the large black shoji lamp, and this product added an instant Asian touch to my room. I used an energy saver bulb that uses the maximum 20 watts, but puts out over 60 so the lamp emits a very good amount of white light. Easy assembly, just a few magnetic parts to screw in and its all ready to go!"

"This lamp looks great when put together, but putting it together may present a challenge due to its flimsy construction. Its parts are fragile and insubstantial, and they do not fit together well - caution is advised. But all in all, it is a great looking lamp, and provides a soothing glow from a 20W energy saver bulb."
