"Bought the smaller writing desk as a home office computer desk and the matching 3 door lowboy, both in the light oak. Both pieces had matching finish. No problems assembling either one but we did take another reviewers advice and use good wood glue in the dowel joints and where pieces fit together. Both pieces took about 4 hrs total to assemble and dry. No strange smell from the finish. Shipped very quickly, arrived in less than 1 week! The only problem: the top surface panels of each piece were both damaged on the 2 back corners. Not enough damage to go through the hassle of customer service, etc. Overall, very satisfied."

"Beautiful and sturdy piece. The Light Oak is a deep, mellow honey oak color, not a pale shade. (Be warned that only a VERY low profile keyboard fits in the drawer: 1.25 inches max.)
This is one of 8 items I've bought from the Craftsman Collection in Light or Dark Oak. Occasional minor flaws, usually a slight dent or non-critical misalignment are not uncommon, but haven't been noticeable. I figure I'd eventually do equivalent "damage" myself.
The quality, looks and sturdiness of the product are more than worth the price."

"Received the Craftsmen Open Computer Desk shortly after purchase. My husband and I were amazed at the sturdiness and quality of the wood. I chose the darkest color - very rich looking.
Great price and didn't expect it to be as nice as it is. We like the drawer for the keyboard although we are using the desk for a laptop. There are also 2 other small drawers and a shelf underneath. Very functional."

"This desk is my second piece from this collection; I also have the 3 shelf bookcase. I got the dark oak (sort of reddish, but works for me) in 56inch length. I needed this to be able to work at home where I have to spread out regulatory documentation. Lot's of room with 56 inches to spread out on. I also ordered the storage shelf that goes on the wall because storage is limited with only 2 small drawers. Desk is a great piece, solid, stable, easy to put together, nice looking. So far the 2 pieces are awesome and decent quality for the price. I would recommend this to others. Also have on order the 4 drawer file cabinet with baskets."

"This desk is surprisingly extremely easy to assemble as the pieces are rather large, but ready to go. It is a beautiful desk. I really like the hideaway pull out keyboard drawer. The size is perfect to place a monitor and laptop on the surface and still have plenty of writing room. The desk shipped very fast as well."

"I looked for quite a while before deciding to go with a Craftsman theme. Large work top helped with choosing this particular desk. The fact that it wasn't designed for a desktop PC also contributed to this decision. It is a lovely desk and the other components in the Craftsman series are just as nice. In addition to this desk I bought the 6 drawer file cabinet and the 4 shelf barrister bookcase. I am extremely happy with this purchase."

"The desk was as advertised, very easy to put together, but it had a couple of extra pre-drilled holes that are a mystery to me. The "dark oak" turned out to be pretty bright, and it's not real wood, but still, it's an inexpensive, nice-looking desk that fits my needs."

The legs on my desk came DESTROYED

"All HD stuff is packed in Styrofoam (which gets everywhere, makes a mess, and later trashes the environment), but it did no good in this case. My desk arrived with the legs dented, scratched, and totally unusable.
The desk looks like it will be an easy build, but now I am waiting three weeks to get replacement legs."

"This was a great solution to our problem of a small alcove for our computer. The desk is exactly the right size, stylish, sturdy, easy to assemble, arrived a day earlier than promised in great condition. The only thing I would have liked better was for the color to be more golden brown like a medium oak than the orange tint of the stain. But since its in an alcove it doesn't have to match other furniture exactly."
