Terribly Made product!!! Buyer Beware!
Date: July 22, 2009
"The holes for the bolts were cut too deep to where the connectors would not match. We had to purchase L joints to strenghten the cabinet and put a bead of glue around the entire thing. I paid WAY too much for this piece of junk."

Definitely adds class to the room
Date: May 30, 2009
"Though easy to assemble, it was, nevertheless, time-consuming. Additionally, for my nearly 70 years, it's size and weight (close to 90 lbs) made the delivered package difficult to maneuver. However, when assembling one piece at a time, it was quite easy and no single piece was too heavy to deal with. None of the hardware was missing; all holes were properly placed and aligned; and the instructions were clear enough to follow without difficulty. The only exception to this was the back, where, instead of wood, the backing is a heavy cardboard, and no holes in either the board nor cabinet are predrilled (I drilled my own). This allows for adjustment of the front doors, so they can be aligned evenly and held in place by the way the back is positioned. Once aligned, the back can be permanently screwed in place, thus holding the front in alignment. Rather clever! Since I use this for my computer and printer, I drilled a 1-1/2" hole in the back, through which I pass my electrical cords to the outlet. This worked out perfectly. The finished product is a beautiful piece of furniture, and the only complaint I have is the "key" which passes through two "eyes", holding the front doors closed. It looks nice, but it's very imprarctical if you're in and out of the cabinet several times a day. Not only will you eventually scratch the backplate, but it becomes annoying after awhile. They ought to come up with a more practical closure. All in all, though, a winning piece of furniture! It's substantial and looks great!!"

"I ordered the Antique Black but incorrectly received the Chinese Script. The drawer doesn't slide in and out as smoothly as I would like. The cabinet looks great! I have it in a hallway and it's presence is nice, the wood is actual wood not particle board so I was very happy with that. There is a lot of bags of screws and nails with this product but the directions are self explanatory and easy to follow. They say it takes two people and I highly recommend that. I did it myself which was difficult in getting it to align and stay together as I built it. The color is great, the red underneath is very slight and just provides a nice character to it."

Not Good At All
Date: April 10, 2009
"After having purchased a 31" and one of the 6 shelf Wuchow units, I was thinking this 38" would be every bit as good as my 1st two pieces were. Boy was I wrong. The finish on this cabinet was terrible. Scratches were all over it. The instructions were at best in complete and in some cases just wrong. Here is an example: Step #6 - Assemble the drawer. No details were provided. The cam bolts were so flimsy 2 actually snapped. When I finished assembling the unit, it has gaps and misalligned parts. Overall I would say STAY AWAY unless you can find out what Chinese company made my other units."

Its a nice piece
Date: January 5, 2009
"I am using it for an entertainment set next to a fireplace. It looks great...just as long as you dont touch it. The doors dont stay closed very well. But other than that the piece is solid. It came with no marks. The directions to assemble were not the best - but I am a 28 year girl that is not that handy and did it all on my own - soooo! The piece is nice - I would recommend."

looks great, but somewhat flimsy
Date: January 3, 2009
"the cabinet looks really good on the outside and was reasonably easy to put together! the back pieces and bottom of the drawer are so flimsy though. you cant put any weight in the drawer otherwise it falls. the metal "lock" that holds the doors together is also a little flimsy and sometimes comes open. if you're looking for something somewhat temporary or that just looks good then i recommend it."

Pretty, but not sturdy
Date: December 2, 2008
"This product is pretty, but not the sturdiest, the doors dont meet in the middle all the way which makes the little lock not fit across very well. It is a pretty cabinet and being I am using it for an entrance table its not highly used so the sturdiness wont be such a factor."

Great For the Price
Date: October 31, 2008
"I was surpised that this was so sturdy. I thought it was a perfect size and looked more expensive. THe only trouble I had was putting it together. The directions are lousy. They only give you photos and very little text to go by. The parts are packaged and labeled well but trying to figure it out by the photo wasn't easy and I had to go back and correct a couple pieces I had in the wrong places. Once I figured it out though, it is real sturdy and looks beautiful."

Sturdy - Hard to Assemble
Date: October 22, 2008
"It does look brand new - not antique at all. So, it just depends on what you're looking for. Also, the back is split into two panels - which worked well for us because we wanted to put our DVD player, receiver, etc in it for home entertainment. We simply left off a panel and then we didn't have to drill a hole through the back. It did take a while to assemble - and it's HEAVY. I would advise assembling it in the room where you'd like it to ultimately be. Ours had a small chip on one of the panels, but I'm tired of sending furniture back and just getting a replacement with another problem - so we kept it and we'll deal. The brass is antiqued a little. Some of the pictures make it difficult to tell because the flash makes it bright - but they did weather it some so it's not so shiny. This is the first piece I've bought from this site and it seems to be a good deal considering everything else we saw is twice as much."

A modern version
Date: September 29, 2008
"This cabinet lacks any Asian antiquity, faux or otherwise. It is a smooth painted, clean-lined cabinet (mine did not have the calligraphy) and quite solid. The brass hardware is plain, and also lacking in that aged look, so when it's put together it is very obviously a "faux" Asian cabinet with a modern look. I used mine in a bathroom, replacing the top with granite and a bowl sink. It was a good piece to work with. The storage is great, and we were able to modify the interior drawer to accomodate the plumbing, and still provide useful storage. One thing to note - there was no chain provided for attaching the slide lock on the front of the storage cupboard doors."
