"When two different materials meet at a point under stress, the weaker will break. A brass piece holds the weight-bearing horizontal teak piece on both sides. Inevitably, the teak breaks longitudinally, defying repair. This happened to 1/2 the chairs we bought, within two weeks. Fortunately, Home Decorators' has a great return policy. All four chairs are going back. They did look great, albeit a tad flimsy, and the wood was nicely sanded. Too bad they are designed to break."
