Nice

"The cabinet is very nice and well worth the money. I don't care who you are, assembly is always difficult with these types of projects, unless you do this for a living! But overall, it's a nice piece of furniture, very big, great storage space."

Did the job
Date: September 28, 2009
"Purchased this cabinet after moving in to my fiance's house. There was no place for me to store my stuff! I put this piece in my office and wow does it hold a ton of stuff. Inexpensive, heavy. seems solid. Not an heirloom piece of furniture, but very functional and can easily see keeping it for at least 10 years. Would look good in any room...(dining, living, bedroom, office) where you needed extra storage. We purchased the darkest color and it was not as dark as the photo...more of a dark cherry. The color was perfect and the style matches our arts and crafts home."

Great Cabinet for storage
Date: September 12, 2009
"This cabinet has excellent storage in the shelving and large drawers. It is a very large piece, but really makes a statement in our room. The coloring is great, but has a slight red tint to it."

good value for money
Date: August 12, 2009
"It's definitely a deal when it comes to value for money - this piece is affordable, looks good, and is relatively easy to assemble. Although the assembly was easy, and the instructions were very clear, the process was tedious (so an electric drill comes in very handy). The back-panel assembly is tricky - the stability and alignment of doors and drawers depends on it - so this piece should be redesigned to ensure proper alignment without depending on the back panel.
My shipment arrived very quickly, and on the same day as indicated at purchase.
I agree with other reviewers who suggested that one inside shelf is too little. I'm planning to drill additional holes for supports and get a few shelves at IKEA or Home Depot.
The color is different than in the pictures - also the printed ones, not only on the website which I saw on four different computers. It's much more orange."

Nice piece overall
Date: March 25, 2009
"The packages (2) arrived as scheduled by FedEx, you should have a "dolly" or an extra person handy to move these as they are quite heavy. Assembly is fairly easy although an extra hand does come in handy to help hold things. The only problem I found with this was with the drawers. Upon completion, one drawer was approximately a quarter inch (1/4) to high and would not close which required that I remove the top (which was not a problem, just inconvenient) and readjust the two drawer glides on the left side by moving them down 1/4 inch and reattaching them. After doing so, it closed properly. Overall I am quite pleased with this cabinet, it is substantial and looks nice. I bought the dark oak which was a bit redder in tint than what I expected but it still looks nice and will hold quite a bit of "stuff"."

The Honest Truth
Date: February 11, 2009
"Cabinet was great! However, only ONE shelf per side left a lot of wasted room for small item strorage. So. . . I had to go to Home Depot and purchase material to build, stain, install an additional shelf per side (1 ft high storage) for better storage availability. Also, there should have been MORE holes drilled for better shelf position selection."

Great Value
Date: November 8, 2008
"I ordered the 58.5 wide cabinet in the MacIntosh Oak. The color has a dark cherry look (not too shiny/not too red) and went great with the other furniture in the room. I was skeptical when ordering, but impressed once it was put together. It is very wobbly until you get the back board on it. I would definitely recommend two people putting it together as the directions state. It took me about 5 hours by myself. (my hubby was hunting and I couldn't wait) I agree with the reviewer who said that two more shelves should be provided for the inside cabinet. Overall, it is worth the money."

Proceed with Caution
Date: November 2, 2008
"This product looks sooooo much better in the catalog and on-line than it does in "reality". It arrived with a few nicked edges that I can probably "fix". The piece itself is heavy but not that sturdy and there are gaps around the doors and drawers. Color-wise it is very "orange" and certainly not the rich brown oak tone I was expecting. I will probably end up gel-staining it. There was also quite a bit of assembly which I don't mind but be prepared for a very long afternoon. The features that really attracted me to the piece were size and style. However, if I ever find something wooden of similar dimensions, this piece will be relegated to basement storage."

Good Cabinet
Date: October 20, 2008
"My only complaint is that the color of the cabinet online is not what you take out of the box...However, once it is all put together (and yes, it takes awhile) it look great. I was not happy with the color of the cabinet for the room I intended to put it in but it works great in another room..I have received many compliments. It truly is a nice (sturdy) piece of furniture. I am looking to order another piece of furniture from this company."

Color was way off
Date: September 29, 2008
"This cabinet went together fairly well. I do believe that 4 shelves should be provided, I've had 2 additional shelves made and additional holes drilled to adjust positioning. We ordered Dark Oak - it is ORANGE!! So be very, very careful on what color you order if it matters - ours give everyone who sees it a good laugh....but the storage is very useful."

Great Piece of Furniture
Date: September 28, 2008
"Beutifully designed and a great place to store those things you don't know where to put. I use it to store my old 33 1/3 records, 45s, cassette tapes and my new DVDs. I put all the documentation and cords to VCRs, DVD players, and the TV. Now I look in one place. The wood is beautiful and people always comment on how it's created more space in my livingroom. AND . . . I had a lot of fun putting it together."

Product Okay assembly poor
Date: August 29, 2008
"This looks like a nice piece and it is nice looking in my home, however putting it together was a huge challenge. The drawers did not fit in with the side sldes attached to them, ended up having to take then off.Trim pieces had too small of screws to hold them on properly, had to switch to a different screw to make sure they stay on the piece. Not sure I would buy something from here again if that is the quality of all Home Decorator pieces."
