"My husband and I purchsed this console online to be used under the plasma tv we planned to purchase. We were both impressed with the size and sturdiness of this console, once we got it assembled. It's heavy, well-made, and incredibly attractive - just what we'd hoped for! The file drawers have plenty of room for our dvds. We love this piece and are very happy with HD for their speedy shipping and good prices."

"I was worried about the assembly of this item based on prior reviews. Then upon receipt it said that it takes 2 people to assemble and that was not possible. However I was able to assemble it without any problems whatsoever by myself. I am a single woman also. Instructions were clearly written and easy to understand despite what others have written. I guess everyone's mechanical ability is different. It did take several hours, but still doable. It is very heavy and comes in two large, heavy boxes. The biggest problem was unloading the item and bringing it into the house. I had it delivered to my office and UPS loaded it directly into my car for me - SUV. I unpacked it inside the vehilcle and brought it into the house in pieces. Where there is a will - there is a way. I am very pleased with the look and I am a designer (mine is black). The individual file drawers do not hold many files, but it is functional and did not require any modifications (luckily) as others had said."

"We had reservations about ordering this piece after reading the reviews, but deicded take a chance on it. The piece arrived 3 days after ordering it, in very stout packaging, no damage and with all the parts. Packed in a SUBSTANTIAL amount of styrofoam - better living through chemistry.
We heeded the advice to be well fed, and consumehalf a half bottle of wine before starting assembly. My wife and I got 85% of the way through it in 2 hours, then finished the rest the next day. All parts and orifices were the right size and trouble free with very ordinary tools. The piece looks good ad the color matches the internet picture. Drawers move freely, no sticking. Some issues with the strong lacquer smell, but that went away after a few days. We are very happy with the value."

"Took about one and a half to two hours to assemble. As a self proclaimed "do it yourselfer" I would say this took a little longer than expected. Nothing comes assembled so beware.
The look of the piece is great (hence the 4 starts). My only major complaint is that the "wood" screws seemed to "strip" vs. "grip" which may cause an issue over time.
I like the piece overall but not sure I would buy it again at the current price. Might be a little pricey based on the overall quality.
It may sound a bit contradictory, but it does do the job for me personally as it is not a "day-to-day" file cabinet (meaning office use). I use it for household bills, etc. ONLY. I think daily use would wear down the lack of screws that "grip" related to the construction of this piece.

"Received in very timely fashion. Two packages, one 72 lbs and the other 54 lbs made it easier to get in house and to desired assembly location. Instructions were more than adequate. All parts were present and well marked. I used glue on both ends of wooden dowels to improve strength. Finish and color were exactly what we wanted. Quality was much higher than expected with good wood and smooth fitting joints. Proud to have."

"Love the color and design of this piece; it was exactly as depicted in the site's photo. There were a few nicks in the wood and one of the drawers had the screw holes in the wrong place so we had to drill new one's. At first this drawer wouldn't fit right, but with a little creativity all was well. Overall, easy to assemble; instructions were very detailed and quality was excellent; it's a solid piece of furniture, and delivery was right on time. Highly recommended!"

"My husband put this together - it took him about an hour and he is very experienced with this type of assembly. His only complaint was that the screws for the bottom of the file drawers were too short and the bottoms didn't want to hold. He had to put in new screws that he had. Other than that, it looks great and functions really well."

"This took a while to put together, but it wasn't difficult - instructions were good and all the pieces were in the box. I use this in my home office/bonus room and it looks more like a piece of furniture than a filing cabinet. I was a little concerned about the drawer slides since a couple of reviews said they had trouble sliding the drawers, but there were aluminum glides that work great - maybe they made an upgrade. Would recommend this piece if you are looking for a good looking file cabinet to fit in your decor."

"The concept is great for this item since I was looking for a piece of furniture that I could put my flat screen on along with file storage. It suits both of my needs for my home office. The cons are that it took quite some time to asemble and it definitley is not real wood. My husband had to add a few more screws to strengthen it and one of the pieces arrived scratched. Home Decorators did replace the scratched item ASAP. Overall value for the price is OK."

"This four-drawer file was so defectively manufactured that I had to essentially re-make many of the joints and mating surfaces, which would have been impossible if I did not have a full complement of woordworking tools. The drawer slides for two of the four file drawers were misaligned (too far apart in front, too narrow in back, and required extensive hand-chiseling in the back and reworking/narrowing the mating surfaces in the front, as well as re-drilling all of the holes on all four drawers. Unless the manufacturer significantly upgrades its quality control, I would not recommend this piece to anyone other than a full-fledged furniture restorer."

"This piece was very difficult to assemble. Instructions clearly written by someone who does not speak English. I had the same problem as some others with holes not matching up correctly. Also, the paint on the legs was chipped.
I put some cookbooks on the lower shelf and it immediately started sagging. (The board below the drawers, which does not bear weight is reinforced, but the lower one is not? )
If I thought I could get it back in the box and did not have to pay so much for shipping, I would have seriously considered returning it."

"Redoing a small office space and ordered 3 wuchow products. The 6 drawer file cabinet was perfect! 4 drawers not enough- 9 drawers too much! The product came within a few days. My husband and I put the products together. I probably couldn't do it myself, but the 2 of us put it together in a couple hours. The pieces were marked and instructions and pictures clear and easy. Our drawers lined up and slide great (better than expected) and the storage space and amount of files it holds is also more than expected. When we got to the end, we were missing 1 screw! I ordered a replacement on line and received it in a few days! It looks great in the space as do the other pieces we ordered. All in all, the product looks better and works better and was easier to put together than any of my expectations. I would definitely recommend!"

"I wanted extra file storage in our main living area but didn't want something that looked like a file cabinet. I also wanted to replace my sofa console table and the Wuchow 6-Drawer File Cabinet was exactly what I needed. No one realizes that it's a file cabinet.
It looks like a much more expensive piece of furniture and if I later decide to put it in my home office, it will be a perfect fit."

"We now have a new respect for how fine furniture is made and all the steps that go into it's construction. This cabinet is great but heavy as lead (get Fedex to deliver it to the spot where it's going to stand), shipped flat and in two boxes. The construction is time consuming and exacting. Other than all that, it's absolutely great and very stylish looking when complete."
