"difficult to put together. Not all wood. similar less expensive cabinets come assembled, and are all wood."

"Cabinet is pretty solid and well engineered except that there should be more holes pre-drilled to adjust shelves more efficiently. I'm using my cabinet for dvds only and I had to drill more holes so I could add a few extra shelves instead of wasting space by only using the pre-drilled holes."

Disappointed
Date: September 29, 2008
"I have ordered several pieces of furniture from Home Decorators and this is the first one I've been disappointed with. I love the concept but the exterior doesn't feel or look like wood. It seems to have some sort of plastic texture on it. Also, it doesn't match the matching TV stand that we purchased to go with it. The wood on the two pieces are different colors and the TV stand doesn't have the plastic, textured appearance. The doors stick and don't seem to support the weight of the contents very well. I should have sent it back but my husband had already spent hours putting it together by the time I figured it out."

good buy
Date: September 27, 2008
"I liked the product but I do not like products that I have to assembly myself. Once it was put together, it was a nice buy but I have a lot of VHS, CD's and DVD's. It was not large enough for me to fit all of my items in it but it did hold quite a bit. The product is nice and sturdy and matches the rest of my decor."

Good idea, bad design
Date: September 9, 2008
"We thought this would be a great way to store the excessive amount of cd's that we have in a small amount of space. Though it does hold all the cd's, there are a couple pitfalls to the overall design. First, once you put cd's in the doors, the weight of them seems to be too much for the hinges to hold up effectively, and the doors drag across the bottom of the cabinet. No amount of hinge adjustments will help either. Second, you need to make sure that you have about 6-8 inches of space on either side of the cabinet so the doors have room to swing open. Finally, the overall color (we got the dark cherry) has a very odd pink hue to it that was not at all what we expected. We've gotten quite a few pieces of furniture and other items from here and have been very impressed with the quality of everything else we've received until this item."

Weak doors
Date: September 1, 2008
"The hinges aren't enough to keep the doors from rubbing as they're opened and closed. Eventually rub marks will appear. Otherwise, very nice."

Not the Best for large media collections.
Date: August 31, 2008
"While the unit looks okay with walnut veneer, the pine base wood is not hard enough to hold the weight of a large CD collection (defeating the purpose of buying such a unit). The hinge assembly splits the wood when you load up the outside doors with CDs, the hinges drop a couple of millimeters, and you cannot close the doors. While I generally prefer solid woods in furniture, in this case I think a harder composite material might have been a better choice for this design. I've assembled a lot of storage and shelving units in my day, and have never run into this problem before. Very disappointed."
