"The assembly directions for this product were very easy to follow. We experienced only one mix-up. When you assemble the drawers you must be sure that the "groove" on the side and back panels is at the bottom of the drawer. The directions did not specify this and we had to re-do two of the drawers.
You need to have a very long, skinny screw-driver for several of the screws, as they go several inches down in a hole, rather than being on the surface of the wood.
I am very pleased with the product and would recommend it."

"This is a decent little bench which fits PERFECTLY in the space we have. The silver drawer pulls add a really nice finish to the piece. It was easy to put together for anyone who has built furniture in the last 5 years (IKEA, Office Max/Depot, etc).
That said there are a couple of drawbacks:
1.) The hole for one of knobs wasn't drilled deep enough to actually allow it to attach. At first I thought the knob was the problem, but after getting a replacement I realized the hole wasn't deep enough so I had to dremel the drawer a little in order to make it deep enough to attach. Not that big of a deal but for someone not handy at all it might have caused a problem.
That being said when I contacted Home Decorators to get a replacement knob they were AWESOME.
2.) The wicker baskets are ugly and unfortunately the opening is non-standard (short and deep) so you can't use fabric drawers that alot of other systems have.
3.) The pad attachment process is a JOKE and it will not stay attached. This isn't a problem for us as the bench in an alcove with wall on 3 sides, but if you have it in a more open area it could be an annoyance. A little handyman effort could get the pad to stay better though.
4.) I REALLY wish they had other color options for the pad. While the black matches perfectly I would have preferred a white, tan or green for the contrasting color instead of the matchy matchy look.
Even with those drawbacks I am very happy with my purchase and the bench is used every day."

"The only difficult part of the assembly process was putting the wicker baskets together. You have to move the baskets in a ways where you could jam the screws into place. Also, follow the directions very carefully."

"This is a very nice bench, well made and relatively easy to assemble by following the instructions. Plan on at least an hour to assemble. The cushion velcros onto the base, reducing any slipping possible. Solid and well sized for even a small space."

"This bench is fantastic....took a little while to assemble but well worth it. Solid construction, great quality...I would recommend purchaseing some additional velco (industrial strength) to hold the cushion in place...other than that small detail....recommend it to everyone"

"I read all the reviews before I purchased, those who complained about assembly have nothing to complain about. I put this together MYSELF in 1 1/2 hours, my husband put in 4 screws, total!!! It took me another 15-20 minutes for the drawers and as for the wicker baskets, they are drying right now as I just spray painted them new color.
The instructions were right on, all the pieces, holes etc were there. If you have ever put an Ikea type product together, it is exactly the same. GREAT BENCH!! Shipped amazingly quick!! Would definitely recommend, I may buy another one!!"

"I love this bench! I read reviews for a long time and took a chance on this bench. It probably took a couple of hours to put together, but that was okay because it was very straightforward and it is very sturdy. Not to mention it looks great. The baskets have a wire frame so they are very strong and the bench pad is very nice. My husband is not a small man and with two young kids it is used many times each day and after a year looks as good as new and is as strong as ever. Love it!"

"This bench took me about seven years to assemble...and then as I was putting on the last piece I realized I'd put the very first piece on backwards b/c the label on it had been backwards.

I do love it though. It is EXACTLY what I wanted.
The cushion on the top is ANYTHING but a cushion. It is such low quality it's kind of amazing. It's gross and I didn't know people sold stuff like this.

Fortunately, for my purposes it works just fine.
The delivery came so fast and once it was assembled it really is nice to look at. I'd say go for it if it LOOKS like what you want in the pictures. THat is exactly how it looks in life. What you might not expect is the horrible cushion on top but otherwise good quality."

"We keep all of our "everyday" shoes in this beautiful, practical organizer. The kids love to have their own basket and we love not seeing their shoes tossed at the back door. Also, it wasn’t too difficult to assemble. We had it constructed in about an hour with "help" from two small children."

"I ordered this bench because it fit the small space I had in my mud room. However, the instructions have errors and the pieces were not marked correctly. Up arrow was placed upside down causing you to assemble piece wrong but not know it until nearly finished. Very difficult to take apart. Cushion cover is ivory and not white as listed. Overall, I like the piece because it is functional and fits space well."

"This entryway bench is a very useful size and shape. It is just what we needed in our office space. It is exactly how it is shown on the website.
Assembly was challenging as there was one piece where the screw was not long enough. I had to create the correct length of screw to hold it in place. Also there was one piece that did not have the screw hole. The accompanying bolt hole was there, so we just drilled our own screw hole and it worked fine. In addition, the assembly of the baskets was a little tricky because the screw holes did not line up very well.
I highly recommend this piece. However, if you struggle with assembling things and have no knowledge or skills in this area, it might not be the best choice."

"The velcro on the cushion does not line up with the velcro on the underside of the bench top. Therefore the cushion does not stay in place. The bench seems to be made of paper based phenolic material. For the price of $279 plus $20 extra it was not worth the price. If it wasn't for the additional work of dismanteling it, repackaging and shipping costs, I would return it.

"This piece looks lovely under the window in our office. It's a sturdy and comfortable bench for extra seating, plus the three drawers and three baskets provide lots of storage. This piece took us (two women) about 1 hour to assemble. It wasn't bad at all. I love the way it looks between the Oxford bookshelves on either side."

"This was the first piece I ever purchased. i was nervous by some of the views but it was the only thing that would fit in my small entryway. It was very easy to assemble. I had no problems. It is a very study piece that my children sit on everyday to put on shoes. After a 6 months, it still looks very new and nice. I'm very happy with my piece."

"We purchased the 42" white bench and found it fairly easy to assemble - it took two of us about 2 hours. The tough part was the middle of the bench - the directions weren't quite as clear as for the other parts and we had to do some guesswork. But we were very impressed with the labeling of sections and the corresponding hardware. The cushion top is kind of cheesy and the drawers don't fit well (a little difficult to open and close - sanding helped) but the bench itself is very solid and has nice workmanship and there was not a single mark or scratch on it."
