"This leather shag rug was horrible! The backing was rubber and it smelled like old used tires. I had to take it out on the patio after opening it because the smell was foul and toxic. The leather was crudely cut and the finish was raw. I used the same shipping box and enclosed label to return it. It cost $50.12 to ship it back and I am very annoyed about that too."

"I have purchased a number of rugs from HDC and have always been pleased. However, this rug smells very bad, feels horrible to walk on and looks terrible. I returned it, but did have to pay to send it back."

"Rug looked like online picture but when unrolled all the leather strips were squashed flat and wouldn't "shag" up even after days of fluffing. It looked like a mass of seaweed. The real issue though was the smell! Leather smells and thats ok (sometimes pleasurable),but this rug was obnoxious! The leather/tannery smell permeated the whole house and left the kids coughing. Unfortunately, this rug has to be returned."

"My son-in-law doesn't say anything good about anything unless he had something to do with it.But I got him this time with this rug!!!!!The first words out of his mouth were "What Is That?---Where did you find something like that?---Oh my goodness that is too tough (absolutely fantastic)! "This rug is ok - in the pictures it looks like the leather strips are skinny but when this arrived they are almost 1" wide. It looks much bulkier than I thought it would but still fits nicely in my room albeit not where I had orignally intended."
