"First off- the workmanship is not *bad*, its just average. I purchased this during a seating sale, and I also had a % off coupon. For what I paid- totally worth it. If I had paid more- I may have been displeased. The walnut stain was slightly lighter than shown, but still went with a kitchen table + chairs we have from a major retailer.
These stools were different than what was pictured online. Online, it looks like there is a bit of a joinery detail where the crossbar connects to the legs. This is not so in the actual product, (which actually makes it less durable- if someone uses these as "Everyday" stools and rests their feet on the crossbar- it could break or loosen over time. The crossbar fits between the legs- it is not joined through the leg like the photo indicated.).
Overall- we use these as a "space filler" at our kitchen island and these will get light use. The look is GREAT for the price. For what we need- they work. For what I paid- I'm pretty happy.
If you need a really durable stool- I may consider other options. But for a more decorative item- perfect."

"I absolutely love my stools!! They came already put together and they look fabulous. They are a great price, are pretty comfortable (not for extremely long periods of time, though, since there is no cushion) but I have them around my island in my kitchen and they have been used every single day multiple times a day since I got them! Highly recommended"

"These a very nice wooden stools, make sure to get the smaller ones (24") for kitchen use. The 29" would be for a taller bar setting. There is no assembly at all; however, I would put soft felt stickers on the bottom of the legs to prevent the scratching of a wood floor. You can buy the felt stickers at any big home improvement store inexpensively. My only complaint is that it took 6 weeks to ship and receive a supposedly "in-stock" item....regardless, we love the stools and they were well worth the price and wait."

"there is a spot on the top of the stool where the wood is damaged, the boxes it arrived in were great so it had to have happened before packing. its unfortunate, right on the top of the seat of the chair."

"I had seen fantastic saddle chairs from PB at someone's house. PB no longer sell these so after searching in stores I settled on these online.
These are much cheaper and honestly you can tell. I bought 4 and 3 of them wobble. The clear coat finish is scratchy and different on all of them.
All-in-all I got what I paid for......
I would not recommend these to anyone."

"I bought two of these stools and thought they were a good deal, but when I got them, they were wobbly, with a poor finish and of very cheap quality, which surprised me because my previous purchases with Home Decorator's have been very good. These are going back asap. Very disappointing. HD, take these out of your catalog!"

"I ordered 2 in walnut. They arrived and 1 was a different color and had white paint on it. I called customer service and they were very helpful and said they would resolve the problem. I received a new stool 1 week later. The colors match.
This is a perfect example of "you get what you pay for" They are inexpensive reproductions but are functional for my purposes."
