My cabinets
"I bought 2 of these cabinets for my parlour ("living room"), in black. This is high quality affordable furniture that I would recommend to anyone. Adjustable shelves, strong latches, fine finish—without that tacky exaggerated inappropriate distressing. The distressing is just the right amount, red showing subtly through the black in places where one would actually see wear on a seasoned piece. I have in them my white stoneware and creamware collection and some of my most precious books. The cabinets are just the right height, about the height a mantel would be, offering additional display of treasure. I have them side by side and hung my most favorite architectural pictures above. It's stunning. They are heavy, again bespeaking good quality. My handyman (average skill level) spent 45 minutes each to assemble them.
I love these cabinets and will never regret buying them. Great value!"

"If "solid hardwood and cherry veneers" means particle board and paper thin, easily nicked veneer, then the ad is properly worded. Overall a good looking bookcase once it's assembled, but I would recommend using two people to put this together. I would not trust the middle of the shelves to anything heavy - like books. Very nicely packaged for shipping, no issues there. Arrived in just a few days - a very nice surprise. Ordered on Saturday, arrived on Wednesday -amazingly quick."

"This bookcase is surprisingly well-constructed; quality-wise, it's comparable with bookcases from Pottery Barn and Ballard Designs. It has a stylish, traditional design and a high quality finish. It holds quite a few books, which is both a plus and a minus; while you can store several hundred books in one place, when all of the shelves are installed, there isn't too much space between each shelf. A typical trade paperback is about all each shelf accommodates, height-wise."

Low quality bookcase for the money

"I live in a large A-frame house and I needed two bookcases to fit into two 60"x46" spaces. After searching the entire internet these bookcases were the only ones I could find that would fit so I purchased two of them. The shipping was ungodly expensive and I really expected high-quality items. The bookcases fit perfectly, but they are really cheap quality, not at all what I was expecting. They came unassembled like most furniture does these days. A lot of pressboard. One of the feet had been poorly turned and a big chunk was missing from it. The "glass" in the doors is more like plexiglass. The bookcases are very shallow. The doors are very flimsy. If I had seen these in person I wouldn't have bought them, but having paid to ship them here I am stuck with them. I would recommend not buying them unless they are the only thing that will fit your room."
