Cheap! Date: November 5, 2009
"As I put this unit together the particle board crumbled apart. I would have returned it if I hadn't already brought the packaging to the dump the day before. I had to use Gorilla glue in some places because the particle board couldn't hold a screw. In some places (the base where all the weight was going to be) the screws provided only went into the joining piece 1/8 of an inch. That's where the particle board just crumbled and I had to use my own slightly longer screws AND Gorilla glue. This is not a piece that I will be moving very often because I know it will just fall apart. I ordered the dark oak which ended up being very orange. None of the cabinet lined up very well. When you look at the front of my cabinet you can see the metal pieces holding it together. The gap on one side of the cabinet door is much greater than the other side. I put it together exactly as instructed and used the pre-drilled holes. I would not order furniture from this company again. I don't know what their policy would have been about returns but the quality wasn't there. Live and learn."

"The Dark Oak is not dark oak but orange, like a pumpkin. Returned the product, shipping was around $120.00. So I am out around $200 and have nothing. Be sure you want orange if you order this in dark oak."

High Quality and Beautiful! Date: October 15, 2009
"We bought this piece because we have small children and needed a tall TV stand that wasn't too expensive. We did not expect the exceptional quality or beauty of the piece! We are planning to buy two matching bookshelves and possibly some other matching pieces. We love it!"

nice piece, but not exactly as we expected Date: October 13, 2009
"The piece is very sturdy. There was a lot more assembly than we were hoping for (you even have to put the drawers together!) Also, the color (we chose dark oak) is actually very ORANGE. It took some getting used to, but the other colors would have been much worse with our current furniture. The final issue we have is that the interior of the drawers is very small. You cannot stand up a DVD or VHS in these drawers. You can lay them down and stack a few, but then you have a pile and don't know what's in it."

"Price was descent, not that hard to put together, but need to pay attention to details. Since some pieces are not real wood, the screws did not stay in (bottom back piece which doesn't show). Top Drawer is too tight and rubs against shelf above and can't be adjusted. Color is very red and doesn't match my other mission pieces. Since it has 3 drawers and sits high my view allows me to see gaps where wood doesn't attach."

Very functional and fits almost any decor. Date: September 14, 2009
"Quite a few parts and you will need an extra set of hands in a couple of spots but, parts are labeled nicely, instructions are detailed and flow nicely. You'll need some time with this one as well. More color options would be nice with this product line. Good purchase."

It took my pro contractor two hours and... Date: August 29, 2009
"I had a pro assemble this because I was too busy. He and a cabinet maker (no kidding) couldn't get this thing together so that the drawers would roll out smoothly and the doors would close. Things don't fit; there are chips in the laminate; there is the typical Chinese off-gassing (you know that Benzene smell?); there is styrafoam pieces everywhere, and the whole thing is really a disappointment.

The only positive thing I can say it that this furniture is cheap.

Great! Date: August 12, 2009
"I searched the world over (well, almost) for something similar to this, and I am very happy with my choice! Not only was it a good price, the quality is great. One tiny complaint - there is a small chip by one of the drawers. I didn't notice until it was put together (and that was the first piece in). It took several hours to put together, and it's VERY heavy, but it is quality wood, so that is to be expected."

Looks very nice Date: July 16, 2009
"Product came in two boxes. Did have to use different screws for the bottom of the back base. The screws provided were long enough to grab bottom shelf.
I ordered the dark oak and it is rather orange. But it works okay with the rest of my decor.

It was on sale, but the handling and shipping charges wiped that savings part out.

Overall, it is a nice piece and serves its purpose well.

A bad kit Date: June 17, 2009
"Several mistakes were made in the production of this product. Mis-positioned cam-bolt holes on both sides required clever reworking. Holes for shelf supports were not properly aligned so new ones had to be drilled. Pieces that should join flush have gaps up to 3/16 of an inch.

The structural design is also poor. Pressed wood products on load-bearing parts were not thick enough and screws with insufficient penetration for presssed-wood products pulled out easily. The entire piece required extensive reinforcement.

I'm pretty handy and so is my son who worked on the kit too. We agreed that if we'd just bought some real wood we would have built a sturdier cabinet in less time, though it would not have looked as nice.

This is my sixth cabinet kit from Home Decorators and the others were solid wood, properly prepared, and great values. This product should no longer be offered.

Nice TV Stand Date: June 4, 2009
"It came in 2 boxes and very well packed. The instructions were very easy to follow and it did not taske long to put it together.
I do reccomend that if you order any of this style of furniture you request additional CAM LOCKS. They sent an additional 3 however they are made of VERY cheap metal and break very easily. I did not have enough to cover the ones that broke. That I was very unhappy with...

Nice piece but Date: May 8, 2009
"I got the Macintosh Oak because of other reviews stating the dark oak was orange and the light oak was too yellow. I am somewhat pleased with the finish but it is dark. I am planning on purchasing two end tables and a media storage cabinet to go with this piece and hopefully I won't have the difficutly in assembling that I did with this piece. I had screws break and when putting in a support on the bottom of the piece, the whole thing broke in my hand, along with the hardware. Luckily, my woodworking husband was able to repair it. The directions were simple to follow but when putting in a few bottom pieces, the screws would not hold into the wood and I had to put the side pieces in first and then the bottome pieces and then the middle. The directions had me putting the middle part in before the side pieces so in order to get the whole thing to hold together, I had to assemble it in a different sequence. You get what you pay for I guess, and the price was reasonable but I would like to see better quaility in the wood to make assembly easier."
