"I wanted something small that I could put a couple of pairs of shoes in to eliminate clutter by the back door. This is perfect. I can put 4 pairs of shoes in it and the bench doesn't take up much room.
It is also very sturdy. The pillow has a pretty cheap looking cover but that isn't significant. The bench would be fine without the pillow."

"We're better than halfway into the assembly of our window bench and I'm impressed with the workmanship & engineering. Everything fits nicely together. Although it does have a lot of packaging in the shipping box, I believe it's probably necessary and would much rather have that than risk scratches or breakage. Not a quick project to put together, but well designed, methodical assembly. I'd estimate 3 hours total for the average handyman. Easily done in two evenings. An electric screwdriver is a real asset. Good team project - my wife enjoyed helping. Or, get your teen son or daughter involved for a sense of pride in ownership."

"It took me 1 and 1/2 hours to put this bench together. I thought the assembly was Easy but I marked Moderately Easy because I know plenty of people that would not think the assembly was easy at all. I'm pretty handy, so for me...no problem. If you don't have an electric screwdriver or drill with a screwdriver bit you should invest in one before putting this together. I'm happy with the appearance. My only issues are that it scratches REALLY easily, and I mean REALLY easily! The cushion came a little dirty, I'm not too worried about it because I was planning on picking out a new fabric to cover it anyway and one piece of the bench was damaged but it was in a place where it is not visible to the eye so no biggie. I would definitely purchase this product again, although it is a little over priced."

"Well, I guess those few words should be a tell-tell sign that it would come in a million pieces! It took me and my husband at least 6 hours to put together but when it was all done, I love the way it looks and fits in the spot where I wanted it! I would have paid extra to have it come already assembled!"

"One of the pieces of trim was almost broken in half and some of the pieces stickers were on the outside making it difficult to get the glue off the finish but overall happy with the product. Bought 2 at the same time. Dedicate about 1 1/2 to 2 hours of assembly time for each even with an electric screwdriver."

"Was easy to assemble, I didn't have any problems with any part of it - just takes time and patience. It is very attractive and looks like wood - however, it seems to scratch/chip pretty easily so I would not recommend for a high-traffic area."

"we put it together by following the instructions, with patience, so it was done right. One of the rails that the drawers slide on was - in the factory - glued in at an angle, not straight, so the drawer could NOT go in.
so one drawer in on the floor, there is the gaping hole in
the piece of furniture. how to fix it? The piece doesn't come apart. And the doors don't sit evenly."

"Took my husband a long time to assemble but was expecting that based on what others mentioned. One of the bottom pieces contained pre-drilled holes in an incorrect location. I called customer service and they were very helpful and ordered a replacement piece. The replacement piece took over 2 1/2 weeks to arrive but it fit perfectly. Was charged $1 for the shipping and handling of the replacement piece. Quality of bench was as expected....average for online assembly yourself purchase."

"This is a 'pressed wood' item that has a nice finish over it. It does take a LONG TIME to put together and an electric screwdriver is a MUST. It took me about 2 hours with one, had I used a manual screw driver the assembly would have been an all day event. It does look nice all put together but again for the price I was expecting something more than fancy glued saw dust."

"The product is very nice looking. Very labor intensive (not difficult) to build. One of the holes for the bolts that hold the top was made too deep, causing a little defect on the top of the bench. I didn't bother exchanging the piece as the cushion covers it."

"Well built, attractive piece of furniture. Very sturdy for sitting on. It did come in many pieces and took 2 hours to assemble but it was not difficult and only required a screwdriver (an electric screwdriver will speed up the process). Follow the detailed directions in the correct steps, and you will have no problems. Very pleased with the finished product, looks very rich especially for the price."

"I bought the black bench for my front room and it fits perfectly under the window. It provides an elegant but simple modern look for my room and is consistently complimented by everyone. The storage is great for games, books, CDs, etc. As some have said, the workmanship is not perfect-- one door is slightly crooked, and the cushion does tend to slip a bit--but these are minor complaints for an otherwise very nice product. The piece as a whole was exactly what I wanted. Assembly was definitely complicated but with my cousin's help, we had a great time building and socializing together."

"I read several reviews before I purchased the bench. And now that I have assembled the bench, I agee with all the reviews I read. The bench takes a lot of time to assemble because there are so many screws, but it was not difficult. Looks really nice when complete. Its great in our kitchen nook. The cream (really very light yellow) pad cover is so light it looks like it will be dirty whenin a month. I plan to cover mine with a patterned fabric."
