"we put it together by following the instructions, with patience, so it was done right. One of the rails that the drawers slide on was - in the factory - glued in at an angle, not straight, so the drawer could NOT go in.
so one drawer in on the floor, there is the gaping hole in
the piece of furniture. how to fix it? The piece doesn't come apart. And the doors don't sit evenly."

"Took my husband a long time to assemble but was expecting that based on what others mentioned. One of the bottom pieces contained pre-drilled holes in an incorrect location. I called customer service and they were very helpful and ordered a replacement piece. The replacement piece took over 2 1/2 weeks to arrive but it fit perfectly. Was charged $1 for the shipping and handling of the replacement piece. Quality of bench was as expected....average for online assembly yourself purchase."

Over priced for what you get

"This is a 'pressed wood' item that has a nice finish over it. It does take a LONG TIME to put together and an electric screwdriver is a MUST. It took me about 2 hours with one, had I used a manual screw driver the assembly would have been an all day event. It does look nice all put together but again for the price I was expecting something more than fancy glued saw dust."

Nice purchase, but could be better built

"The product is very nice looking. Very labor intensive (not difficult) to build. One of the holes for the bolts that hold the top was made too deep, causing a little defect on the top of the bench. I didn't bother exchanging the piece as the cushion covers it."

"Well built, attractive piece of furniture. Very sturdy for sitting on. It did come in many pieces and took 2 hours to assemble but it was not difficult and only required a screwdriver (an electric screwdriver will speed up the process). Follow the detailed directions in the correct steps, and you will have no problems. Very pleased with the finished product, looks very rich especially for the price."

Exactly what I wanted

"I bought the black bench for my front room and it fits perfectly under the window. It provides an elegant but simple modern look for my room and is consistently complimented by everyone. The storage is great for games, books, CDs, etc. As some have said, the workmanship is not perfect-- one door is slightly crooked, and the cushion does tend to slip a bit--but these are minor complaints for an otherwise very nice product. The piece as a whole was exactly what I wanted. Assembly was definitely complicated but with my cousin's help, we had a great time building and socializing together."

"I read several reviews before I purchased the bench. And now that I have assembled the bench, I agee with all the reviews I read. The bench takes a lot of time to assemble because there are so many screws, but it was not difficult. Looks really nice when complete. Its great in our kitchen nook. The cream (really very light yellow) pad cover is so light it looks like it will be dirty whenin a month. I plan to cover mine with a patterned fabric."

"The bench cushion is NOT ivory. Its very yellow. When I called to exchange the cushion for one that fits the description I was told that they didn't have one available and was offered an in-store credit of 50 dollars or 35 dollars credited back to my credit card.

The drawers are also slightly off."

"Wonderful and pretty piece of furniture.
Fits perfectly under my window seat.

But, VERY difficult and time-consuming assembly. It took a "pro" carpenter almost 2 hours. So many little pieces."

Sturdy piece of furniture

"Many pieces, but quick to assemble if two people can take turns with the screws, my hand was hurting after about 2 hours. I use the bench at the foot of my bed to store my bedsheets. The storage is too small for an actual comforter, but probably could hold a duvet cover. Looks good."

"High functionality and personality! Sure fills the need for cubby-space type of storage in my den and provides extra seating as well, while looking very nice. Took a little more assembly time than some other more simple pieces I've bought online but wasn't too bad. Not high quality wood but seems to be quite sturdy."

"The bench took about 2 hours for my husband (moderately skilled at carpentry) to assemble and the product looks okay. From a distance it looks nice like the picture - up close you can see that there's too much space below the doors and other inconsistencies in how the pieces fit together. I suppose that's the way it is with most mass-produced assemble-at-home products. I would not call any of the storage areas "spacious" as in the description, but it does help cut down on clutter with kids in the house."

"Took my husband about an hour to put it together and I didn't hear any cussing at all, which is a really good sign! My bench looks beautiful and is everything I hoped it would be. The only (very slight) disappointment is that the cushion cover is not too attractive - the material is a bit drab and is off-white, as compared to the pure white bench.

But the cushion cover zips off, presumably for laundering. Perhaps a good seamstress could make me a cushion cover to match my decor!

However, it's a small thing considering how pleased I am with the quality and function of the bench. Would buy another one immediately if I had a place to put it!"
