"It is as dark as the description says. Measurements are true. Assembly instructions are a little odd, but it is not hard to put together. Nice to have a regular screw driver vs the one they give you. Kind of heavy; might need a little help there."

"we love this bench - it was easy to put together and it looks beautiful in our hallway. we did have several extra pieces leftover (screws, etc) which we were worried should have gone somewhere, but the bench is sturdy as ever. defintely recommend it to everyone."

"this is a well made bench. it is just what I expected from the picture. I like the bench cover material and I appreciate how the drawers slide easily in and out. the instructions had been translated from another language. not well written at all. but my husband (who is very VERY handy) put it together in an hour."

"I purchased this for our foyer and it a welcome addition. The foam in the bench is a little stiff but I think it should hold up well. The drawers are perfect for holding dog leashes or gloves and the space underneath the bench is great to keep our shoes tucked away. The bench arrived in perfect condition and only took a few minutes to assemble."

"this bench looks different than the picture. i ordered the beige and in the picture it looks like it would be more of a taupe, light brown. Unfortunately, the color is more vanilla yellow than anything. also the wood is black. there is NO element of dark brown in it. they should really change the names of the colors."

"I had been looking for a great entryway bench without the enormous price. This was the bench. It was super easy to put together, half of it was already put together on arrival!! It also came with extra pieces just in case. It came within about 3-4 days of ordering. This was amazing because I had a family gathering and got to show it off. It is a sturdy bench. I also liked how large it is. I ordered the 4 drawer one and fits in the space perfectly. The one thing I didn't like was that I thought it would be more of a dark brown in color and it is black instead."

"The bench, which is my 7th purchase from HD, is great. The quality, for the price, is exceptional. The color of the fabric top was as expected and easily replaced. "This is the second Ethan Bench I've purchased. The first - with file cabinets - got moved into the new office/guest room. I liked the first one so well that I had to have another for the sunroom.
My husband single handedly put it together in about an hour, and I'm very pleased with the look and feel of it.
I just wish Home Decorators offered baskets that would fit in the spaces below the drawers. That would really complete the look
Overall, I am very satisfied with both the Ethan benches in particular and with HD in general."

"Great little piece of furniture. Fit the space perfectly and the function for changing boots etc by the front door. Remarkably sturdy and attractive. Installation would have been a breeze except 2 holes required for complete assembly had not been drilled (bit sloppy on the QC?). Fortunately, we had a drill so were able to correct on our own - we are glad it worked out as it was just what we were looking for."
