"The cabinet itself is beautiful, but the color is far off from the pictures. Much browner than it looks, the mahogany is just a hint so it does not match my furniture at all. The other problem is that the shelves do not hold DVDs upright, even though it appears that way in the picture. The shelf is not high enough and is fixed not movable. I would suggest adjustable shelf."

"The color of the antique oak....which is what I bought was no way near picture...it looks like a lighter walnut color ...almost the color of the mahogany finish...I read the mahogany color is very dark....Make note of it before purchasing"

Arrived damaged, but still pleased

"I took advantage of a great end-of-year sale and free shipping (and anxiously awaiting two bookshelves in the Baymont collection!). It arrived within two weeks of ordering. My husband is using it as a credenza in his office and it looks stately & elegant. Unfort., it appears to have been damaged prior to final shipping to us as the box was in perfect condition. A significant area on the bottom had the finish cracked off and bare wood exposed, but I had walnut-colored wood paste and patched over it. It's not noticeable unless you were to shine a flashlight on it or get down and inspect closely on your hands and knees, so it's not worth the trouble of returning. Aside from that, it's gorgeous, and the dark color matches a family heirloom (china cabinet) that my husband cherishes."

"I wanted this piece of furniture for awhile and when they had the end of year sale I had to get it. It was delivered quickly and it was just as beautiful in person as it was online I only wished it was just a little bigger, i put it in a rather large room with high ceilings and it was just a bit too small. It arrived with a crack in the wood on one of the doors and the customer service department was wonderful in handling the problem. I will definetly shop with Home Decorators in the future."

"I looked at this for many months before purchasing (during a great end of year sale). 3 months earlier I bought the matching media holder (on sale) and loved it. I debated getting the taller matching sideboard/buffet...which some reviewers said they used for a TV stand. I was worried this one would be too short...but it is just fine! It's gorgeous! I haven't filled the cabinets yet, but it's perfect for the 51" TV we recently purchased. Some reviewers commented that it was too dark (I got the dark stain) or poor workmanship - and yes there are a couple little "thick" spots in the stain...but no one would notice unless looking for them. I don't even notice them when I look. My boys (9 & 14) and I were able to unpack and move this into place with no problem - but yes it is heavy. I am glad I waited for a sale/coupon - and even MORE glad I finally bought it!"

"Very nice piece, as others had said, it is definitely darker than pictured. I expected that from previous reviews. The item is very heavy, and came well packed. It's a beautiful addition to my living room but I would describe the color more as a dark espresso. I couldn't find a better item for the price."

Beautiful piece of furniture

"This is a very solid, well build and lovely piece of furniture. It arrived in perfect shape, was packaged very well and unboxed easily. It is heavy, but with a solid granite top and solid wood base and exterior that is what I would expect. The oak is quite a bit darker than it looks on-line, but still matches the medium oaks and natural cherry in my home. But it is a med-dark brown oak. If you want a large screen TV console that doesn't look cheap or utilitarian this is it. The interior easily fit my stereo system, DVR and TV cable box, we did have to cut a larger hole in the back for my 5-dsic CD changer to fit, not a big deal with the proper saw. The remote controls work fine thru the glass and the end cabinets give you a nice place for pretty things. The two drawers will hold a few CDs or DVDs, but not much. Contact customer service and they will give you the exact interior diminensions, the double front doors open up to one large space and there are pre-cut holes in the back for cables. Very happy with this purchase."

NICE CABINET; BAD COLOR

"THIS CABINET WAS HARD TO RATE BECAUSE OF IT'S COLOR. IT IS VERY DARK BROW, ALMOST BLACK IN COLOR. IT APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN PAINTED AND NOT STAINED. IF IT HAD BEEN STAINED PROPERLY IN A BROWN OR MAHOGANY STAIN, IT WOULD BE BEAUTIFUL. THE COLOR IS SO DARK THAT YOU CAN'T EVEN NOTICE IT HAS A BLACK GRANITE TOP. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THAT FACT. I ALSO EMBELLISHED THE ALL HARDWARE AND HINGES WITH A SLIGHT BIT OF GOLD TO MAKE THEM STAND OUT SO THEY COULD BE SEEN. OTHERWISE THEY JUST BLEND IN WITH THE DARK COLOR. THE WORKMANSHIP ON MINE SEEMS TO BE VERY NICE AND I HAVE PLENTY OF ROOM FOR MY DVD'S."

"Looks great, love the granite top. Unfortunatly the inside shevf is fixed and not adjustable so one of my components [cd carousel] would not fit inside. All other components are slim and there is lots of space left. I searched tthe web thoroughly before deciding on this one. I wouldn't want any other media cabinet."

"We decided on this style to compliment our antique furniture and old world style decor. The design and granite top are great. That being said, I was dissapointed in the craftsmanship. The trim accents on the doors are noticeably crooked and there are several wavy "drip" marks in the finish. It bothers me since the TV is such a focal point in the room, but I'm not going to send back. Just wish the quality was better because the style is beautiful. Also, note that the plymouth brown is a very dark brown, not a medium brown as I was told. There is very little wood grain showing unless in bright light."
