"My husband put this together. He's quite experienced at putting these kinds of things together and had a hard time, it took him a few hours.
Overall, the product is good for the money you are paying. I get lots of positive comments on how good it looks. It's in a small spot in my kitchen to hold bills, etc and it does the job. One of the draws sticks a little bit, not sure if that is part of the construction or how it was put together."

"This secretary is exactly what I needed and the right size. the quality of the wood is great, esp. the finsih. although all the parts were well marked and everything well organized, assembly needed more than 1 person...having a handyman husband sure came in handy. Screws need to be upgraded to higher quality though. Used our own for some of the steps"

"I don't think it was clear enough that this was a "put it together yourself" item. Considering the price it should have come assembled. Trying to assemble was very difficult and there are still some screws that won't go in properly. It makes the item appear to be aof a "cheaper" quality."

"I HAD GREAT EXPECTATIONS FOR THIS PIECE, BUT TO MY DISMAY, THE EXPERIENCE WAS QUITE DISAPPOINTING. THE PIECE ARRIVED WITH NO HANDLES, CALLED THE COMPANY AND THEY WANTED TO TAKE 10% OFF THE PIECE, BECAUSE IT WOULD TAKE 8-10 WEEKS TO DELIVER NEW HANDLES. AS WE CONTINUED TO PUT THE PIECE TOGETHER, WE NOTICED THAT EVERYWHERE THERE WAS A SEAM---WAS SEPARATING!!!!!!!!! WE CALLED THE NEXT DAY TO GET A NEW TOP PIECE AND THAT AGENT SAID WE COULD GET THE NEW PIECE AND THE HANDLES IN 5-10 WORKING DAYS---BETTER. BUT EVERTIME I LOOK AT THE PIECE, I SEE ANOTHER SEAM SEPARATING----I SM REALLY DISAPPOINTTED. WON'T ORDER ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!!!"

"I bought the single desk in Walnut, and the appearance is very nice, with a deep rich finish. The secretary desk is very useful, takes up little space but holds a lot of mail, phone books, etc. The only complaint I have is that the lower cabinet did not come with a clasp or magnet to hold it shut, so it did not close properly. I bought a magnetic clasp from home depot and now it looks and works great."
