Perfect coffee table! Date: August 24, 2009
"I was searching for a light colored coffee table with a lower shelf and drawers that was over 40", NOT EASY to find to say the least. This table fit the bill perfectly and it is made out of solid wood to boot! The two drawers are good sized and work smoothly. The lower shelf is low enough you can actually put something on it and not hit the top shelf.

Although the instructions recommended 2 adults put it together, with the help of the side of the couch I was able to manage it on my own. The instructions were clear and all of the hardware was identified making it much easier than it otherwise could have been.

"I've always been very happy with all my purchases from Home Decorators Collection and this purchase was no exception. Maybe we're just getting better at putting furniture together or this coffee table was just easy, but it went together very quickly and easily. We're very happy with it and it really does look just like the picture, finish and all!!"

"This table met all my expectations with quality, ease in assembly and the final look of the table. I had been searching for just the right contemporary black table that would fit in my small living room and this did the trick."

"The piece looks great and is much better than other coffee tables I've had in the past. It went together quite easily, except you must have everything very tight for it to fit together well. We had to go back and tighten some screws and things before the top would fit on well enough. Also, one set of the screws sent with the piece to put the handles on the drawers were the wrong size (too short), so I had to make a trip to the hardware store to get screws that fit properly. That was the only major thing wrong with the table. It looks fabulous, especially with the rest of the Mission-Style collection, which we are getting piece-by-piece."

"Bought this item because I couldn't find any "light" wood end tables and cocktail tables.
It was alot darker than the catalog and website showed, but it does work in the room.
Had a handyman do the assembly - well worth the cost - too many extra pieces!!

Good looking table Date: January 22, 2009
"I purchased the cocktail table, two end tables and a console table. They look great and they were easy to put together. The only assembly problem we had was that the screws for the drawer knobs were not long enough. We drilled out the hole from inside the drawer so that the screw head was recessed and then we were able to attach the knobs."

Takes Two To Table Date: December 3, 2008
"This cocktail table is great! BUT, the assembly instructions that say that it requires two adults for assembly are absolutely correct. .... I got along just fine until the last major step, when I had to get someone else to help. We had to turn the table upside down. One person had to stand on it and jump on it to force the pieces to mesh together, so that the other person could turn the cams. .... There is also a bit of ambiguity in the instructions about how many pegs to insert and where to insert them; the pictures are vague. ....

But, as I said, I really like the table! The two-way drawers are convenient, and the shelves hold many magazines!

"This was not too difficult to get together but, you need someone to help since it is a large piece and heavy. Make sure you aline all the pieces so the finished side is facing the correct way, easy to do if you pay attention."

Heavy Table Date: October 6, 2008
"Table looks nice and we like the style, but it is VERY heavy since it is not all wood and has pressboard in it. Makes it hard to move for vacuuming. We would not buy it again."

Not without problems Date: September 29, 2008
"I ordered this product in Chestnut. It is really more of an espresso color than a chestnut, but that's actually closer to what I wanted. The assembly was pretty easy except for the final step which was attaching the table top. The dowels didn't quite fit right and I couldn't get the top on completely securely. You can't SEE that it's not on perfectly but the table top is generally the first thing you'll grab when you're trying to move the coffee table around, so you want the top to be secure.
Aesthetically, the coffee table is nice, however I wish they had provided some wood care instructions. My table develops temporary stains underneath anything I set on it. They generally wipe away with water or Pledge, but I worry that they'll become permanent discolorations if I let things sit there too long.
