Hmmm... a mixed review Date: August 7, 2009
"This unit is made of particle board with oak veneer. If I had know this, I would have been less eager to purchase it. At least it is real veneer.
Assembling the drawers was a snap. The unit's decorative "ear" pieces were drilled too small -- it took both enlarging the holes and soap on the threads to get the screws in. Putting the top on was the most difficult. It is attached with cam bolts, with the stud portion screwed into nylon-like receivers which were countersunk into the particle board of the top. But, they were countersunk too deep, which meant that the studs weren't long enough to mate with the cam. After an hour of diagnosis and remediation attempts, I finally got the top on with all but two cam bolts actually fastened. It will be fine until the piece needs to be moved. And then came fitting the drawers into the unit. Several of the slide rails were not secure due to the use of tiny screws that had stripped the particle board. The drawerw have a fairly large gap between the drawer front and the frame of the unit. The drawers fit rather poorly, several drawer tops rubbed on the frame when closed. I was able to overcome this and get most to be centered in the opening by adjusting the slide rail mounts on the drawers. There are extra un-used holes in the slide rails, so by working one side at a time, I removed the existing screws at the front end and replaced them into the vertically-slotted holes, giving the bit of adjustability needed to make them stop rubbing and look like they pretty much fit.

Factory problems Date: September 28, 2008
"The console is a nice piece of furniture but assembly was a nightmare. You virtually hasd to assemble the entire unit and the factory had pre-drilled the screw holes for half of the drawers in the wrong places. You could see that two drawers had been drilled properly but those holes had been filled in with wood putty and redrilled in the wrong place. Plus, the factory had stripped the holes on two of the glides they assembled for the small drawers and the glides partially fell of when I tried to insert them. it looks great now and works well, but Iwould not do this again"
