"We purchased this file console for our home office, along with the desk, and are very happy with both pieces. Although it does take a bit of time to assemble (2 hours for my husband), it is very solid and sturdy when complete. We ordered it in black and it looks great in our remodeled home office! We

"We got this console for organizing papers and other items in my teenage daughter's room. The appearance isn't bad, and the idea is good -- combination of file drawers and baskets -- but the assembly was much more time-consuming than I expected, and the drawers don't fit well. One of them doesn't completely close, and they are hard to open and shut. This is not going to encourage my teen to put things away."

"This product looks good with my other black office furniture. It went together rather easily except for some difficulty understanding how the interior panels had to go and how to get the file drawers in.
I am pleased with the size and look. The baskets are much larger than I expected which is great - holds more stuff!"

"Perfect addition to my home office. Very solid construction, and I was even able to put it together by myself! it was exactly what I was looking for. Only complaint, if you can even call it that, is I wish the baskets where a bit taller as you can see into them."

"This was delivered very quickly. I got nearly the whole thing together (2+hours) only to find that the slides that hold the drawers had stripped screws and fell off. I very quickly got replacements, only to find that those screws were also stripped. This is supposed to be wood but I found that some parts are actually pressed cardboard painted black. On the plus side, the company was very responsive when I e-mailed."

"I needed something to hold office files and to store misc items such as gift bags, photo albums, etc. This file console is perfect. It is beautiful, looks great in the room we use for an office and fits right under the window. It is very spacious too - holds a lot. I can fit several large photo ablums in one wicker basket and legal size files in the drawers. I searched a lot of places trying to find something like this - the price is good too. It is heavy wood so might need a strong person to help put it together and move it."

"This was more than I expected! Its beautiful and fits perfect in my home office. Will say for those that aren't that handy, it was not easy to put together. I actually had a handy man assemble. It took to men to assemble. He said all parts were there and nothing was left over. The drawers were a little difficult to get on the tracks but once finished its FABULOUS! Highly recommend just be prepared for the assembly."

"A neat looking cabinet, and it makes an attractive pair with the matching 60-inch computer desk. A pro assembled both for me; he commented favorably on the presence of appropriate hardware items in the package. I'm pleased about the purchase but disappointed about a couple of features. For one, I expected sturdier baskets--these are a fairly light and brittle weave. The second disappointment is the color, Merlot. I expected a lovely, deep-red "flat" color. But both desk and cabinet actually look like the mahogany finish found on 18th-century furniture. I can't convince my husband, who loves contemporary and hates 18th century, that the effect was not intended. For a modern look, I shoulda ordered white."

"Searched for a white fiing cabinet. This one is larger than I thought it would be, can hold legal or letter sized folders! The baskets are large also, I put felt pads underneath the baskets so they wouldn't scratch the wood. Assembley took about 3 hours - it looks beautiful!!!!"

"This was my first purchase from Home Decorators, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Although this item shipped a few weeks later than originally stated, it was well worth the wait. I'd been looking for a nice way to file all my important papers without having my house look like an office. Since I don't space for a separate office, finding a piece of furniture that blended in was top priority. This piece was relatively easy to put together and a much better quality than I was anticipating. All in all, I'm very happy with this purchase!"

"I was pleasantly suprised at how easy assembly of the cabinet was. Everything lined up perfectly and the instructions were pretty straight forward. I was a little nervous given the size, but it only took about two hours. It looks perfect.
My only complaint is after I placed the order, I received an e-mail that it was on back order and would not ship for about six weeks. I then went on vacation around week three and guess what happened? It showed up unannounced and right in the middle of my driveway. Thank goodness no one was driving around in search of furniture and thank goodness it did not rain, otherwise Home Decorators would have been replacing it."

"Although I had to wait over 4 months to receive this item, which I was not happy about, I am really very happy with it. It was packaged very carefully and arrived in perfect condition. My husband and six year old son had it put together in about two hours. I love it!"

"Difficult to "translate" directions - appeared to be English written by an ESL learner.
The directions were not given in the proper order.
Some wood pieces were not cut to fit properly. We had to force pieces together and then fix the cracks that appeared.
It took 2 evenings to complete. Looks beautiful, but I will never order "needs assembly" items again."
